I like the portraits.  It's great how the subjects are in their own place, or what seems like it.  I get a sense of what they are like from it.

Thank you!  That's good to hear because that's what I want them to do.

Also, what's up with that mystery hand holding a cigarette in the photo of the girl on the couch?

It popped into frame a few shots before, so I asked her to put it back up for that one.  It's probably not as interesting when it's not a mystery.

The light and color you're getting is amazing, Chuck! Really good work.

Not sure if any of you guys have seen it, but they released a trailer for a new Vivian Maier documentary. Looks really good. I've always loved her work and I find her to be a very fascinating person.

I had never heard of her until a couple days ago when I came across the trailer on Facebook.  Her work is great, and the documentary look super interesting as well.  Also hearing Joel Meyerowitz talk is almost relaxing in a way.

I met Joel Meyerowitz once and got to show him some prints and talk about photography, he has a very relaxing affect.

He was the juror of an exhibition.  He did an open jury, meaning applicants could come and watch him look through the photos and describe his reactions and thought process.  After he finished, I went to pick my prints up off the table and he approached me to talk about them.  Pretty much the best compliment I've ever received.
Here's a few other edits...

Sorry for the quantity of pics. I go to the zoo a lot, but this weekend all the animals were out and about. They're pretty standard touristy shots, but animals fascinate me.

Haha I like that it was posed.

RCB3: I like the zoo photos.  They don't look too much like tourist shots to me.

Cadillac, whenever I see your pictures, all I can envision is Michael Meyers standing there and he's about to kill me. And that's a compliment by the way.
