Thanks guys. Actually all this is in SF. It's at Land's End which is like on the right side of Ocean Beach. I got to use my ND filter for once at the right time while the sun was going down and got a clean shot. Surprisingly there is a lot of great rock around that is just perfect for this stuff. I need to go back again to take some other shots with the water hitting some other things. I seen people just throw logs on the ground to get water flowing over all smooth.

Hey guys, ive got a question that google hasnt been much help with, wondering if any of you might know...

Ive been thinking about using one of my modern lenses (no aperture ring) on my old k1000, which is fully manual. This obviously means that i will not be able to change the aperture, so i was wondering whether the aperture would be fixed on f22 or f2.8. I assume the photos would be vignetted to fuck as the lens is only really designed for a crop body but still, think it would be a fun thing to try out. Just need to know what aperture i would be expecting to use.

usually, the aperture should be wide open. also, dont expect it to be tooo vignetty, i have used nearly every digital pentax lens i had on my film pentax and the only one where i really had vignetting was when i used my fisheye, and that was only due to the fact that the hood itself was the vignette.

Well i was planning to use the 15mm or 35mm and see what happens. lens hood shouldnt be a problem for those lenses anyway, so i should be good to go. Cheers herc, tomorrows going to be a good day.

yes. maybe we set up something new? I received 2 series from friendly dave and I guess you, wasn't too much. Maybe we could do something, that's easier to set up? maybe we can have a monthly feature with a certain topic ... like the idea with the 3 pictures. we could start with 3 shots at night for october.
