checking in to praise cadillac's coverage of the freddie gray protests in baltimore. josh, you're covering these events with the same hometown sensitivity that runs through your other bodies of work. i feel the respect you have for your community in every frame, each made with sincerity and grace. really great work, man.
vitunvesa, those landscapes are beautiful. awesome scans. please post more!
Thank you so much, Brandon. It means a lot to hear that, especially coming from you dude. Although I live outside of the city, it's my second home. All my friends are there, all my work is there.
I've been so proud of Baltimore this past week, seeing so many people, both young and old, standing up for what they believe in. These weren't people protesting for the exposure or because it was cool. They were doing it because it really affected them. I met a lot of people who've lost family and friends to police violence and it breaks my heart because they're so tired and scared.
As you're probably all watching by now, Baltimore is not too safe right now. Police cars are on fire, the mall's being looted, the national guard is going in within the hour. I tried shooting for a bit, but it's just not safe for anyone to be out right now. The city's burning. I'm just really sad that it took this for the world to start watching.
For any Baltimore pals, and I know there's a few of you, stay safe dudes.
For whatever it's worth, here's some photos from this past week that I just haven't been able to post yet.
