I was going to work a couple hours last night at my pizza joint's late night location from about 1:00 to 3:00 after working in our downtown spot from 5:00 to 10:00. In between, I went to hang out with my girlfriend and get a little stoney before the second shift. When time came to head to work, I drove there and when I checked my phone after getting out of the car my boss told me he didn't need me. Stoked, and I was planning on being up until 3:00 anyway, so I grabbed my headphones and started a walk. On my walk, I started seeing some stuff I'd been wanting to skate, so I got super antsy and ran home to grab my board around 1:30. For the next hour, I skated around the totally abandoned downtown area by myself on all of the brick sidewalks. Going up and down two stairs and curbs and skating in the middle of the street. Felt like I was in NY. I was just doing wallies off of these funny little slanted planters into the street and ollieing onto and riding some skinny ledges. Truly the best time I've had skating in a really long time. Capped off that by skating to the grocery store and, after staring at the discounted Easter candy for five minutes without buying any of it, grabbed a half gallon of ice cream. I can't normally do 360 flips that well, but at about 2:30 am on my way home, I did a fucking awesome one right in front of the PetCo next door while holding a bag of ice cream. That's all I've ever wanted.
