Off topic, but I always thought the Plan B (OG) miniramp sessions were the best display of miniramp skating ever recorded.

Chicogoff gets an honorable nod.

The more people talk about how gen Z something is or isn’t just makes me dislike gen Z even more.

You’re just so tragically misunderstood! Get the fuck over yourselves.

I mean it's all Gen X and Millennials saying it... it's not Gen Z going "omg this is so us"

the gifted hater glaze in here is disgusting. So many gross tricks. 5050 gap lip a curb? Krook shuv 5050? Nose slide fakie manny v flip? Manny ride on grind drop lip? Fakie v flip sw 5050 to regs? Front tail drop 5050 fakie bigspin out?! The line with half cab nose slide 270?!?

I want whatever yall are smoking.

Even in his own stream reviewing his part he’s making excuses for damn near every trick he had.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy his YouTube videos but seeing comments saying he deserves a pro board is egregious. Anyone who says I’m just a hater is disqualified considering he literally goes by “gifted hater”

Sorry, not sorry

This video is the first real peek into the new disjointed, decentralized skateboarding industry where roles & titles are beginning to dissolve. Am, flow, pro, none of that shit matters anymore. Everyone calling it a homie video is correct but not because of the negative connotation you’d like it to represent. Many of you are just aging out of the culture and are frustrated because you lack the adaptability to find your own place without feeling isolated and forgotten

exactly, I'm a 52 year old skater and even I understand that at some point this industry will belong to the zoomers.

You know, you’re right.

It’s super annoying regardless the source. I’d like to think generation doesn’t really matter much in skateboarding.

Can’t wait to see Hsu and Lay footy tho

trung's clip is probably the most ironic thing in there (at least i hope it was). made me laugh my ass off though. all he needed was some boat shoes with that fit and we would have been back in 2012 brooklyn

Sorry to break your heart but Trung just dresses like this.

Unless you can do something about late stage capitalism, colonialist wars, climate collapse, and SoCal real estate prices, you're just going to have to find a way to cope with skate vids that look like this.

Has Jerry ever driven by a burning car he didn't like?

The skating, the edit, the music, they're all so good, just maybe not thinkpiece good.

This is a PR/brand awareness slam dunk given how much people are still debating the video. Meanwhile the Disorder video got like 20% of the comments. The fact that, controversy or not, Sci-Fi is more relevant or worthy of discussion than Nyjah's brand means that things are doing alright in skateboarding.

What a weird assumption to make. What even is this ‘debate’ you speak of?  It’s a decent video and great for the brand but none of that means much of anything

This video has 21 pages of posts the last 10 or so are people discussing whether or not they dislike it. NB Intervals had a huge budget and marquee pros and had 19 pages. In 4 days this video has more views than Intervals did in its first month. I'd say that qualifies as a debate.

The purpose of a video is advertising for a brand and showcasing skaters. This thread and the video come up when you Google anyone on the team or the brand. The discussion is going to make people want to see it unlike some videos that don't even get 3 pages of comments.

Great for Jerry and his brand.  But I don’t think you know what this word means

what does that word mean and how is this meandering thread not--at least to some degree--a debate?

I really like the opening company logo graphic / music.

But obviously very derivative of 80s

Halfway through the 20s do we have any 20s fonts or identify of this decade or is recycling all that can be done

I like the "post-post"

I guess that started when decades stopped having their own kind of vibe?

I can't think of anything new.

"Gen Z's fascination with the 1990s is a widespread cultural phenomenon driven by a mix of nostalgia, escapism, and a desire for authenticity. They weren't born in the 90s, but they've embraced the decade's fashion, music, and aesthetics, finding comfort and inspiration in its perceived simplicity and rawness"

You’re probably correct, a culture that promotes, excuses and encourages sloppiness ain’t for me. I ain’t down for SLS, Japanese robotic fuckery either, but c’mon. You got guys like Gustav, Tyler, the Sour boys, Ishod, Tiago and so many more putting out too notch skating who would never accept such sloppiness. I guess it’s all about standards, in the modern gen z instagram age these don’t exist.

It sucks so badly that all of these people at the very least think it's ultimately okay to skate to a Nazi band, let alone in the vile current moment we're living in of the significant worldwide rise in fascism.
