The Village PM thread
« on: October 31, 2025, 02:13:40 AM »
After looking and not finding anything I think is worthy to have a thread for this.
For what I got from their website:

Everything we like about vulcanised, cupsole and toe cap constructions in one shoe.

I remember reading somewhere that they have a midsole (EVA?).
I'd appreciate some intel from pals like TTS and all that jazz.
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

I have the 1pm in brown. Worn fair amount, not skated. They comfy, kind of feel like a firm but flexible thin cupsole. They have a foot hug feeling that I like.
I enjoy wearing them.

I have some too, echoing that they run true to size. Love how they feel walking around, I'd love to skate them but they're too unavailable in the US for me to want to ruin them.

cool thanks for the responses—I'll think I'll get them as casual shoes and not skate them yet... I don't want to get used to them and keep having to pay the shipping fees

I like the look, would cop. It says on their site that you can replace the rubber zero-two styles. That sounds like a gimmick, but anybody can confirm this? Seems like the sole would be worn under the toe anyway and not replaceable. Jus curious.

Maybe a shoemaker can do something there. They do have a label inside saying something like "this shoe is meant to be repaired"

As you can see the insole is massive, quite comfy really.
Great shoe if you like vulcs. Way more supportive than your average let's say GT blazer. Flick is dope.

So sick

I bet a climbing shoe resoler can add more rand rubber in the Ollie/kickflip area for sure, not sure about how to go about the bottom what with the tread and all but I could see someone just skating the approach shoe dot tread without too many issues esp in something like vibram megagrip

Rip five ten after adidas got them and wouldn't sell sheets of stealth rubber anymore and just wanted you to buy a whole new pair of shoes instead of resoling

Adidas hates da earf

Always wondered if these would skate well:

Prolly kinda stiff though being approach shoes. I know my sportiva TX3s are

Wish there was a place I could try these Village PMs on at, I fux w them

Maybe somebody in here has enough testosterone to send a DM and ask like a man where is possible to replace the rubber part.

Mine arrived yesterday. Since I’m used to wearing similar climbing shoes (la sportiva Mythos) I expected them to feel less supportive in the upper. But they feel more sturdy and comfortable than they look. It will probably be a long time until I skate them because I have too much shoes on ice atm.

Maybe it's like with climbing shoes (construction looks the same) and some cobblers do, some don't (most).

And maybe it's the same as with climbing shoes, it might not be worth it... :)

I don't have a pair yet and I'm not planning on skating them, but what i would do is go into your local climbing gym and ask the staff who re-soles climbing shoes locally
if you live in a city there will be people who do it near you
the upper part where the ollie/flip areas are will for sure be do-able
i wouldn't be surprised if the sole is do-able too, I've met people who just make their own climbing shoes for fun

How the hell can you get instagram to embed? Either way this randomly came up in my feed, I don't think I could pull off any of their shoes but I'm fascinated by them. Good to see a brand doing something unique.

Those mid tops look very cool. I'd be down to try a pair, but they don't seem to have 11.5 in their sizing, and I hate sizing up. Unless sizing down is the play, in which case, I might be persuaded. But for how much these are, I'd have to be able to try them on first.

Damn, these are all really sick. Does anyone know if they'll be coming to the states at any point? The way they're shaped it looks like extra room around the big toe which is cool.

Got a pair a while back and they definitely look cool but are basically a thin/basic vulc with a generic foam insole. Would've been way more into skating them like 5 years ago but have just been wearing them around occasionally. Definitely feels like the type of shoe you'd get used to then would have a hard time switching back to something else. The fit is nice for sure. Curious to try the cupsole ones that have been popping up on IG once they're out.

Same exact feeling. Thaynan makes em look super dope. The more I look at the all black version the more I like em though. Wonder if they’ll be a good shape for my foot..

I hope they perform well and catch on because one thing bothering me in skate media is the uniformity of shoes on skaters. Seems like everyone getting flowed Nike or Cons are wearing the same styles and colors. Skateboarding needs more variety.

For sure they perform better than GT which is already a very solid shoe if you like vulcs.

i have a mental image of
a petite woman in village pm
in the west village, past 6pm
when ever i ask myself
“who is wearing these outside of skaters?”

and i cant unsee it
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Saw the all black pair on a skater at one of Stockholm's (visited family there in October)  skate parks. They look sick, but also kinda weird in person. The monochromatic colors, specifically black, definitely hide the "wild" look everyone is talking about.

From a distance, didn't even notice they were Village PMs until I took a second closer look. Sick to see a company/people trying something creative for a change with skate shoes instead of reissues and simple vulcs/cups we've seen before!
