I don't stock anything NHS since they stopped selling to regional midwest and east coast distributors..
What was their logic for that? Did they ever provide a reason? Seems counter productive.
Would be curious to know this as well.
How are East coast shops getting Indys then? Straight from NHS?
nhs wants all the money. any shop that has them are getting them direct from nhs. same for all their other brands.
in the usa anyways. not sure about international. i bet mbrison knows
This is one thing I had never really looked into or wanted to know, mainly because I am not directly involved (not being in USA) but as others have said too, I think when they had second tier distributors, they had to also absorb some of the costs, so to maximise their profits, they don't have to deal with anyone other than shops themselves.
I do recall some other distributors would have minimum order quantities, which is not unheard of, but when a shop would have to order a case of each size or style, not just a set or two, things start to get a bit out of reach for some of the smaller accounts, which meant they didn't have to deal with them as they couldn't afford it. I even recall talking to one guy who would buy enough stock for maybe a year or would have to buy a lot which would usually last a long time, but that was the only way to do it.
Someone else asked "Is Indy still the best selling truck?" and I think the answer is yes still, then from last check a while back it was a pretty big gap to Ace, then not too far behind Thunder, then also not far behind that Venture, then everything else in single figures on the percentage scale.
At least that was before Slappy really started to gain a bit more traction, but I still don't see that many other trucks around, just Indy, Thunder and Venture with a few Ace and occasional others.
