His very next insta post he signs off with "can't wait to get back at it." Exactly your words of what would be expected.

His next post is him jogging in the sunset and saying "what doesn't kill you makes you more alive."

He is absolutely still projecting that message. He literally said word for word "can't wait to get back at it" on that second post."

First, if you think I am voice of reason, you really need to set higher standards for yourself.

Second, to be clear, I am super pro-helmet.

Third, helmets of any kind, in their current form do not wholly eliminate concussions or CTE (football, hockey, motorcycle, cycling, or skateboarding). If there is some research that suggests otherwise, I'd love to see it.

I didn't say any helmet totally eliminates the risk of concussion - likely never will. But they totally do REDUCE the risk - which you didn't say they don't, but your initial post could be read as such by someone who wants arguments against helmets and doesn't bother with critical thinking. It's a misconception that helmets in skating or cycling are primarily to prevent worst-case skull fractures - any old hard shell would do then. They're engineered to prevent brain damage through dampening on a  spectrum from light concussion to full death impact. Nigel's slam is a hard example for a helmet discussion because it's likely his faceplant might have had the same results wearing a helmet. Plus long term effects from frontal lobe trauma is much more unlikely. The classic Gabbers whip-out to back-KO is a much better example because there the helmet would have probably taken most of the critical force and hitting the back of the head is what turns boxers into vegetables. I just want Gabbers to wear a helmet man...

Yeah, back of the head hits (in skating) seem to be among the most common, and that shit can even happen skating a CURB.

TLDR for those who can't access insta - bad memory loss, says he woke up in the hospital a day or two after it happened and couldn't stop puking.
Can't remember much of anything from the entire week after it happened.
Fractured skull, fractured eye socket, bleeding on the brain.
