Skate Shop Day 2026
« on: February 10, 2026, 07:31:19 PM »
I support the local skate shops all year round and usually get sucked into hunting down some of the limited release product that comes out on SSD. However, this year I haven't see anything that is really calling me.

Anyone know of any interesting product drops this year beyond the DLX ones?

Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

.

I guess with a history of putting out rad stuff, with the likes of Grosso, Natas, Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain and how ever many others, it could be hard to keep up the same level of excitement over and over again, but some people might be more stoked than others on whatever is coming out this year - maybe not so much for people who wanted the older legends type of deal.

There could be other stuff coming out but so far I don't see a whole lot.

The limited edition SSD stuff is meh in compared to years past, but that SSD shop deck isn’t terrible and won’t keep me from grabbing one to support my local.

I’m potentially interested in the Diamond Quade deck, but my local doesn’t order the SSD stuff. There’s no rush for me to buy because shops sit on most of the decks for a while.

The only thing I really wanted last year was the Gonz Stage IV box, but it was limited to 250 sets. Plus, they sold out quickly at shops that didn’t jack up the price.

Edit:
I’m curious about the Vans and Sole Tech offerings. Anyone have more info?

Were doing a Video Days homage drop for SSD this year. I haven't posted any Images yet but if you follow the shop's insta, you'll see it soon enough.

Damnit!  What could have been!

The Jalopi board looks pretty fun.  A bit like the The Genius shape with a better (longer) nose... Not something I really want/ need/ though....

I recently bought sets of wheels from each of my two locals, so I don't feel too bad about skipping this SSD but it was fun in the past trying to get to the shops early enough to get a fun limited deck, opening blind bags etc etc....

Yellow dipped huffer with wheel wells would have been the ultimate choice here... come on DLX, just give the people what they yearn for!

I really love the genius shape, but don't love the nose so this is a pickup for me for sure.

Bump...
Thread didn't seem to get much traction. It's tomorrow. Offerings might be so-so this year eh?
The shop around here doesn't seem too excited about these events unfortunately. They didn't mention it at all this time. They keep posting Zero boards instead ugh.

But that is fine. I support the other shops I like. There is a Chris Senn guest model...

Brett Parson’s art style is top tier but I think it’s kinda odd they went with an 80’s aesthetic for the characters. Not sure if that was just creative freedom or they just suspect old guys spend more money on skateshop day.

I know that most shops will post the SSD stuff after closing today or on Monday morning, but Civil has the boards, for anyone that can’t get it locally:

This year was kind of weird.

No Grimple guest boards etc. Nothing really stands out. The Verty stuff is.....ok but also meh. The Gonz beamer is kind of laughable considering how many shops haven't cleared out last year's models. I know one shop who still has like 5 of them. LOL

The board/s I had my eye on were the shop deck, the Enjoy collab and the Underworld Element. Apparently that stuff was pretty rare and I'm hearing a lot of shops opted not to buy so much of the stuff just due to how hard it is to move it. Some shops still have that Lance girl blind bag art board from last year. lol

I did cop the shop deck, a Verty and the "towel".  I also like to buy something that is directly from the shop or their brand in order to truely support so I got a varsity jacket from them.

I wanted the 411 record so bad but alas not everyone got them.

Resellers suck. I’ve seen the Love/Hate Beamer set from last year go for $500-700 in some cases, even though a couple shops still have them in stock.

Has anyone bought the Kyoto bag? That’s the only gear I’m interested in, but I’m holding out for one in blue preferably.

Grommets is an all '80s style cartoon. If they wanted to use Grommet's, it had to be '80s aesthetic.

Snagged a jalopy and I’m pretty stoked on it. The dipped yellow with the wheel wells is sexy af. Of course it looks too good to skate but I’m setting this thing up asap. Probably keep it more for slappies and skateparks so I can extend the life of it.

This is the way
& maybe still wall it after
I always thought used up boards would be cool wall hangers
Perhaps even better than just a freshie itself

Got the Kyoto bag, it's pretty solid with room for a pair of shoes and other gear. One downside is that there are no internal pockets. Worth the $100 after tax price tag.
