I bought a zero board for the first time since 07 back in 2024 just to see how it skated (it was alright, 5/10) but I haven’t seen anyone who is actually aware of the overall culture skate one in years. My stepson’s dad bought one last year but he’s a “I used to skate” Christian type so he got the board with the cross in it.

I wouldn’t say Zero is even top ten most relevant board brand, they exist on legacy more than anything.

We’re kind of insulated here on slap. I’d wager the majority of active skaters are beginners, old heads, teens who only skate with each other or just random people who skate a few times a month and don’t follow or care about most of the industry shit we dissect and analyze. I was at a very crowded skatepark last weekend and was thinking about the different demographics in skateboarding. The amount of people I saw skating that presented themselves as “core” skaters were maybe 10%
