I have a bunch of 90s baseball cards that are probably worth nothing now. I was a huge Jose Canseco fan as a kid and begged my mom to buy his rookie card for my birthday for $100, which was pretty big money back then for a kid. She actually got it. It came in a really thick plastic holder that screwed shut at the corners. Pretty ridiculous looking back on it.

Other than that I have skate VHS and DVDs and some decks. I don't collect stuff because I don't want to have too much stuff lying around.

My ymca had after school daycare, in 92/93 they would take us out for activities and we’d regularly go to the local comic shop, Comics Ink in Culver City.

It was right when Image debuted. I collected most of the first few issues of all the new books.
I mainly kept up with Spawn for 20-30 issues.
I eventually had to replace my #1 Spawn because I’d gone to a convention and had it signed by a guy cosplaying him.
I was really intrigued by Deathblow, too.

I have the street fighter 2 series up top there.

I’d forgotten but when I unearthed these they were stored in a couple skate shoe boxes.

Those comics were a fad and a casual interest but for some reason I HAD TO HAVE THE COMPLETE COLLECTION OF IMAGE POGS  ;D

I worked obsessively, trading with friends, scouring the house daily for pennies, then I’d make the solo walk to a card shop and count coins out on the counter top for another pack.

Man that was such a fun time in comic books. Yeah the stories were hard to follow but the art was amazing and it seemed like every Image release was so cool.
I got rid of most of my issues but I’ve been rebuying them recently because I really miss that era lately.

I used to have a pretty solid collection of cum jars underneath my bed, until one day mom threw them away.

Thanks a lot mom.

What was the end game, though?

Were you trying to fill them up?

Were you going to bukkake someone with a jar full of fermented jizz?

The mind goes to interesting places with posts like this.

Close friend of mine really likes gaming. Really likes gaming. Always has. He collects everything with a special interest in megaman. His basement is filled with games and action figures. Each system is plugged in ready to go. Via him, he's only a couple hundred pieces away from having enough to qualify as a museum. It's either 2k or 3k pieces.

All I want to say on this matter is I do not recommend collecting cum jars.

2K-3K pieces?
You better double that, then double that again
And still don't get sooped, my friend

 ;D
Just messing around as I definitely have issues and love seeing people share their collections.

Here's a small taste of some of my collections:

Definitely not bragging as I actually need bigger homes just to store all my stuff and this is not a life I recommend to anyone, but it's something I do and enjoy a lot of it so there's that.

I've gone beyond counting but a few thousand of anything is pretty much just the beginning of my collections of comic books, cds, action figures and stuff like that. Thankfully, cars, whiskey and items like that are below the hundreds for me.

Thanks! Yeah, I still have most my collection from childhood and I was off and on with collecting toys and comics but got really deep into it a couple times this century.

I should have all those Image comics you posted except my Maxx collection and that’s one of my favorites from that era. I rarely lost anything but I know some of my “friends” from back then would steal some of my shit sometimes so I’m chalking it up to that. It would be nice to regain that set but oh well for now.

As for your last drink, congrats if that was a choice you made and you ended on a good one. I’m usually not a big drinker but I enjoy some flavorful whiskey at times. It’s also part of why I have a big collection because I get bottles and take forever to finish them.

Propers, stoked on these pics. Those comics and action figure collections are amazing. You guys gotta be into appraisal/insurance territory here.

Funny about the Garfield thing, cool you two can share that. Must hit hardest with the young and old, grandma land I oved it. "That Garfield, he's so ornery."

Killer Scotch collection dude, lined up 2 deep! Glenrothes Bourbon Cask Reserve(sleeper, highly recommend) and Glenmornagie 10 were the go to drams before I pretty much lost interest in drinking. I'm trying to reach through the screen to rearrange the gin and bourbon, hehe.

I cannot fathom the self control necessary to effectively use a cum jar vs a spankerchief as a teenager. Impressive.

Dope nostalgia thread.

Thanks!
I've thought about insurance but I don't look at collecting as a monetary investment. It's certainly an investment in time, money and effort that I should think about that but it's primarily fun and when you get all that other stuff involved, it is no longer fun to me.

I don't know what it is about Garfield but even when I had a huge collection of comic books, I would still read those Garfield books over and over again (also read many of my comics repeatedly) and my daughter did the same. Possibly where some of my sarcastic and cruel humor sometimes comes from. I also liked Looney Toons, Woody Woodpecker and all that stuff so...

Yeah, I've never been a big fan of drinking even though I've done a monstrous share of it and I found most alcohol to taste really bad until I started appreciating Scotch. I think there is a bottle of Glenmornagie 10 hidden in the bottom row peeking from behind a Lagavulin 16 (one of my favorites) but I've never tried the Glenrothes you mentioned. My favorites are the peaty flavors from the Islays but I've found myself drinking more bourbon lately since it feels more casual and accessible so I might have to give that Glenrothes Bourbon Cask a try. I don't really drink the gin or most of the other stuff in that cabinet unless I'm really feeling like something different like a cocktail, but even then, I usually mix something up with whiskey. I also often go for months without touching any alcohol so when I do, it's easy just to pour a neat shot of whatever bottle looks good at that moment.

I don't have shit from childhood, but speaking of comics, I was obsessed with Image comics when they first dropped, I had issues 1-10 of everything they dropped in their first year or two. Also had a whole bunch of old Marvel comics, including the first several X-Force, I loved X-Force. Stored at mom's house.Mom sold the whole box for $10 in a garage sale

I still have 2 Battle Beasts from when I was a kid. These two guys, they were my two favorites so I somehow managed to hold on to them for the last 30+ years. Not my pics and I don't have the weapons unfortunately. Carp still has the chest sticker but shark lost his.

I also have a FUCKLOAD of Kid Robot Dunnys going all the way back to when they first came out.
I was super into collecting them in the early 2000s. Wasted so much money on them.
Some of them might be worth a decent chunk of money if people are still collecting them.

I actually had the transforming version of this toy/vehicle and it is one I miss dearly.

I also had a mospeada figure with the motorcycle that became armor.

The Legioss, is one of my favorites! You can see one I have that transforms in this pic to the right of the Armored Valkyrie:

Some closer shots of them:

And if you remember some of the other mecha from the series:

Mospeada (also known here as Robotech, season 3) toys are actually making a resurgence lately. There is this new line based on a new concept coming out:

And there is this really big boy coming out soon:

Yoooo Battle Beasts!   I inherited toys from my older brother (older by 10 years) so I never really had context for the stuff I was getting like this and MASK.  I had more simple animals and all their hologram stickers had fallen off.  Never knew what they were called
