Mental gymnastics to be different and original < an unoriginal correct take. What about current Lakai makes it a good brand? And yes I've seen their tour edits. Competent video making and skating is a dime a dozen.

The real gymnastics are everyone trying to make the claim that the current iteration of lakai is any worse than it had been for the last 20+ years...

Lakai has always been a massive flaming turd of boring shoe designs, horrible colorways, and heinous collaborations. The art direction sucked ass too (rainbow checkerboard fully flared garbage) - This was lakai under Rick and Mike. No one seems to hold them accountable for being the reason lakai went out of business in the first place.

At least under the new management there is potential for an upward trajectory. The upcoming zenith shoe is far better looking than anything coming from the other core skate footwear brands.

And here I was thinking Sour is Gustav's company

I thought that he definitely helped set it up and run it. I thought all of the old Sweet people did.

Basically, this Guy Tomas started an online skateshop - Junkyard-  in a very small town outside Sweden Gothenburg in which very quikly became biggest online retailer in sweden. They had a OG team with Pontus, Björn (Sour owner), EJP, a few more.. and me. Björn and EJP is from this town and was local at the time.

He started Sweet, that Björn basically ran, and when Junkyard got bought out and wnate dto kick all riders off, they ran off and started Sour. Its Björns company basically ut also a collective in sorts. Emil (Who is my old student togheter with Josef) is running the operations in Barca, after Björn relocatedto Malaga.

We have a premier for 3,3 tonight, will be fun. Now im curios if Gustavs in it.

Is he ?

I will say in current lakai's defense that they are the only people that could get anything out of Bastien since he left flip which is a pretty great accomplishment despite what I/ we think about them post-crail...

whenever that video “the flare” came out, i was already  done caring about them or wanting to wear them.

The Flare is pretty decent video but I saw it the first time like 4 months ago. That’s 8 years after it’s release. Usually I watch all the new videos soon after they are out.

They didn't include the Gustav one in their IG announcement of the new boards so they must be reading the forum.

vincent huhta is sick.
What about Martin Sandberg. Then you got to have Josef he is the man.
Simon Halberg, Barney Page. They all seem to skate together so it makes sense.
