Y'all hating on the editing are tripping. The editing was classic Alien Workshop. So if you wonder why they did it how they did, watch earlier Alien Workshop videos. The interludes were mesmerizing to me, and the footage of the birds acting all crazy was pretty cool. The wind up toy thing reminded me of the intros to everybody's part in time code, and there was shit reminiscent of memory screen throughout.
I know its unimportant to the skating, but people try to be "artsy" a lot. Most of the time they fail, but this is what it looks like when people who know what they are doing do it right.
It's the Alien aesthetic, and I'd be super bummed if the abandoned it in favor of something that is more friendly to masses. Honestly, if it didn't have that shit in it, I'd be on here claiming Alien sold out, but they stayed true, at least for this video.
I liked that it wasn't like fully flared. Notice how they didn't go all grind combo crazy? A couple in there, but I can't name one gimmick that is present throughout the video skatewise. Alien workshop videos aren't super flashy, they never have been. Photosynthesis is definitely in my top 5 videos of all time (if not #1 straight up), but it didn't start that way. It worked its way up by consistently getting better every time I watched it. I have always thought of Alien workshop as a team full of timelessly talented, solid skaters, and I think they definitely delivered on my expectations. Kalis' part will still be amazing in 15 years. His part in timecode is still amazing.
And I got kooked twice since my morissey hating. I hope its for hating on Morissey. Even though I made it clear its just my opinion, and that others may feel different and are entitled to it, Morissey fans are crybabies. Its one of those times I like the kooking.
