Honestly I think my favorite kind is any cheap lager but it has to be at least room temperature and preferably even warmer like it has been sitting in the sun at the skate session warm.

Stella Artois, about 5-6°c

I've got a good photo of me wearing my Stella wifebeater, drinking a Stella.

I try to stick to low-test beers, like 4-5% since I enjoy more than 1 at a time.

My go to is Founders All Day IPA in the tall can (cheap and something like 4.5%).  Two of those and some tweeeeedz... good night, nurse.

Also, living in Vermont, we have some fucking awesome local beers.  Zero Gravity Green State Lager is another favorite.  We're spoiled up here.

I’ve been a fan on Long Trail for 10 years or so. Never been as big on Magic Hat.

I remember having a Heady Topper at the airport. My neighbor, I live in NJ, drove up and bought a case. I thought that was ridiculous.

I want to give a shout out to a 1st Republic Brewery in Essex Junction.

If it wasn’t so damn cold I would consider relocating to VT.

Remember when they had those signs, ‘don’t New Jersey VT’? That shit made me feel real welcome.

Don't get me wrong, there are beers that I prefer less cold, maybe even approaching room temp, like a really nice stout.
But warm, cheap yard beer...

Haha, I had one of those stickers on my fridge during college.  The funny thing is, I was born in NJ (but moved to Maine at 5).

People will do some serious 1 day road trips to VT for a case of beer.  Its wild.

I used to fuck with Long Trail hard in college but that one has seemed to lose popularity around here with the advent of so many other brewers.

Vonn Trapp in Stowe is great as well.  Just good classic beers made well.  Nothing crazy.
If you're in Burlington, definitely check out Foam Brewers on the lake.  They do a lot of great limited runs.
Burlington Beer Co has some great brews too.

You could have a sick day in Burlington riding the bike path along Champlain and visiting all the brewers. There's a good skatepark on the lakefront, too, if you're keen on transition. It would make for an epic summer day.

I went through an IPA phase but honestly I’d rather just drink really cold modelos or trumer pils.

Favorite domestic is MGD.

I’ll buy a case of Sapporo and let it sit on my counter until I’ve drank them all. Something about room temp, idk. Warm IPA though, no thanks.

Edit: Kirin Ichiban ftw though. Warm, cold, idc.

great stuff folks are mentioning. Long Trail was solid from what I remember, as was Saranac. grew up in upstate NY by Albany so was able to enjoy that for a bit. also Trumer Pils is super good and I get it whenever I can find it, which isn't often. seems like their distribution outside of CA is very selective.

i've heard so many stories about Heady Topper that I feel like when I finally try it, I'll think it was overhyped. hopefully not.

I’m fucking with fat tire ale right now, good for our hot/cold weather that we are experiencing right now in Texas, easy to drink, and doesn’t get me too fucked up, summer time I’m usually drinking modelos with tajin, wintertime I’ll pick up something seasonal, really been digging a local fruited sour IPA outta red horn brewery, it’s called pop tart ravioli and yes they use pop tarts to brew the beer, those are usually left for after sessions though as they will fuck you up quickly and you won’t notice til your falling over tryin to stand up

can't believe this thread isn't more active. time for an overdue bump.

Portlander here, so definitely spoiled with local brew in the area. ^^ the Bodhi is a fantastic IPA, good looks on that. Lucille from Georgetown also hits nice. was up in Auburn the other weekend and hit this taproom called CRFT and they had Pliny and another seasonal IPA from Russian River on tap, and those were a whole other level of good.

usually my go-to is a local pilsner called Zoiglhaus. crushing a liter of that for 5.50 at their taproom is what I look forward to.

I love all sorts of saisons and farmhouse ales too, not the ones that are too sour though. but Belgians in general, especially tripels. found Saison Dupont on tap at a Beaverton bottle shop a month ago and couldn't not have three. my dad turned me onto saisons through getting Ommegang during the holidays (Hennepin).

fresh hop season is coming up soon and I'm stoked to get to try all the limited stuff around PDX. hoppy lagers are an amazing style.

also have to frequent the German places around here as often as I can. can't get tired of Paulaner hefe, Bitburger, Andechs.

what are we drinkin lately pals?

I worked at RRBC for a year. While I’m generally fried on IPA’s, they absolutely make the best in the world. They’re fixing to keg an R&D saison they just whipped up in the pilot brewery and I can’t wait to give that a whirl.

I’ve really been enjoying the case of Founders Porter I bought recently but the new bottle design is a crime against humanity.

I’ve been drinking Death and Taxes dark lager and Reality Czeck Pilsner by Moonlight lately at the bar I work at. Moonlight adds an enzyme that eats away at the gluten but I don’t think they can label them gluten free. They’re the oldest operating brewery in Santa Rosa. I highly recommend buying a case online to all beer nerds (and drinking them right away)

To all sour beer enjoyers, if you get a chance to buy anything bottle fermented by Russian River, do it. They age gracefully and make cool gifts.

When I use to drink it was moosehead and then Stella Artois, I wouldn't mind one now but it's a slippery slope and I'd rather not.

i go through phases of drinking different beers tbh, started off on the stellas and then got put on to pint cans of kronenbourg and drank them for a few years since they were about 5% at the time but they dropped the percentage to 4.6%? and i was like fuck that, but carried on drinking them anyway.

i then got in to cheap polish lagers, like super strong shit like 8% and up absolute shithouse liver pelters while actively looking for something new to suck on and i found red stripe to be in the middle for drinking sessions since they're about 4.7% so it was happy days.

I’ve saved some cans for nostalgia, these two belong together for a few reasons. My friend moved back home to North Dakota a few years ago, since then I’ve visited a few times and missed opportunities to try the iconic beer Schlitz, but last year I finally got my hands on a pack.
Despite its poor reputation I’d put it over every mass produced beer I’ve tried.
It made a birthday campfire with fresh bread and snacks complete.

Pour one out for Schlitz, they’re out of business now.
If I didn’t have other plans I would’ve arranged to visit the region to pickup a last batch brewed according to the original recipe.

The Holy Grail was a last ditch attempt to secure a gift for a buddy I’d made out there, we bonded over Python
The last pack was available at a Total Wine & More in Arizona so I reserved a rental car that night. from LA I drove into Mesa on a mission the next morning only to return the next day just in time for my vacation.
