maybe its just me, but i think its awesome when skaters take a long time to become pro, even though they've earned it for a while. they tend to be my favorites and their boards are the pro boards that i make it a point to buy.

Yea it is dissapointing when I see an am turn pro within 2 years of getting fully on a company.

Seems like it is more of a decision to capitalize on a skaters marketability while they are "hot and young". It is a bummer at times but it doesn't affect my ability to put down four wheels and have fun.

Fuck, I really hope he doesn't do that. But it's got to be a decision about money. Because leaving one shitty company for another is pointless.

Fuck, I really hope he doesn't do that. But it's got to be a decision about money. Because leaving one shitty company for another is pointless.

$5,000 a month before royalties is hard to say no to

mike mo, malto, olsen turned pro quick for girl, even though they skate as good as most pros and could sell boards just like that, but girl should of milk them as Am for a bit longer...

jamie thomas is doing a good job though, all the Ams from Zero/Mysetry are all Materal, i like how he keeps them Am for awile. deffently make you wanna buy there board as soon as they get bumped up to pro rankings

i'm down for skating for fun and all... but when you're putting your body on the line every day and you've been riding for a company forever, you gotta do what you gotta do. it would piss me off to ride for a company for a long time and see some little kid turn pro before me just because of his "marketability." companies should treat their veterans right imo.

and yeah, he's showed up in a few ads, and gone on a few of their tours, so i assume he's on full by now. I remember his footage in the "flow" section of the Bag of Suck DVD.

I heard that Hassler is next in line for pro status on Enjoi. About time.

i think he got paid just as much as the all the pros on Girl/Choc, minus board royalties of course. I remember he said he was in no rush to turn pro or something.

"Pro" is just a marketing term nowadays as far as I can tell - it seems to be just about whether you can sell boards.

As far as I'm concerned, if you're making enough $$ that you don't have to have a real job, you're a professional skateboarder, whether your name's on a board or not.

nick mclouth should have some type of board sponsor. can't believe how sick that 411 part was.

both jon choi and nguyen should be at least am. same with jerrod saba. fuck, all those enjoi-flow guys should be am somewhere.
