One more vote for Rough Riders.
They are not durable for power sliding or tricks where you slam into stuff (ie:slappies), but just for straight cruising there is nothing faster or grippier.

That’s why Blender uses them on his Heated Wheel set-ups.

 :P

Got two of these Real Donnelly 8.25 so I decided to make a cruiser out of one.
Film Trucks 5.5 Standards
Indy conical hard bushings
Oj super juice 55 mm
Old Bronson G3 bearings
Super fun setup..
I have one of these in my stack. Can't wait to skate it. The dementions and shape are perfect for me. I also got some orange conical fulls to go with it.

I’m thinking OJ 55mm Mini Super Juice 78a for wheels. Ace 44?
[close]

This will work based on juggy’s measurements, but you will have some hot rod in the back so make sure you push with your foot slightly away from the board.

If you have not bought wheels yet I highly recommend Rough Riders. I’ve never tried the OJs, but there is no way they are as fast. Bones RR has a large plastic core that definitely stops the same compression that you would get with OJs. Also, they are 80 duro not 78. Bones are also symmetrical so you can rotate. And they are Made in the US, which I like the idea of.

Either way, enjoy the commute.
[close]

Thanks for the info dude. Have not bought wheels yet. My other cruiser is 9.25” with 60mm wheels, so the idea of this one is slightly less big and clunky but still rolling over everything, pebbles and shitty roads. I’m looking at 55m mini Juice OJ, Bones Rough Riders per your recommendation, and Ricta Clouds maybe like 56mm. Hmmm

This is me Rough Ryding with DMX nowhere in sight.

59mm. That was my only attempt just to see if they could and it wasn’t that hard. They have a shit ton of rebound. They are like Formula 4s of the crusier wheel world.

What trucks should I use for this?

SURF JR. SPECIAL SHAPE - WITH WHEEL WELLS
8.75" (WIDEST POINT) X 31.5"
NOSE: 6.25"
WHEEL BASE: 14.375"
TAIL: 6.5"
[close]
On shaped boards like that, you don't base your trucks on the widest point (that's egg shit.)
Rather, you base them on the narrowest point (usually the back truck).
Reason is, if you hot-hod your back truck, then you're foot will hit the wheel while pushing, and you'll eat shit.
So, take the width at your rear truck, and that's your answer.
Prolly around 8.5 in your case...maybe less depending on the width of your wheels (which makes a huge difference.)
Indy 159
Ace 55
Well, while we’re on the subject, here’s my setup with that same board. Indy 149s. Feels awesome.

Are you measuring the top or the graphic side? None of my surfs go over 8.75.

Excuse the carpet, the pups shedding season is in full effect.

I had an old deck, trucks etc lying around so I decided to buy the biggest softest wheels I could find, slap them all together and make a cruiser and this is what I ended up with.

Organika 8.1
Thunder 147
Bones soft bushings
Big ass risers
Enjoi wheels, 62mm 83a

They’re Bones. Can’t remember which wheel exactly, got them for free from a friend who skates for them but they’re actually really great. I’ve been riding them with the cruiser/filming setup for several months now. It felt funny setting up this board with them but I’m hyped!

Just got my first cruiser today as a Bday gift from my girlfriend (well, she paid, I chose everything  ;D )

Frog Pat G (9.875)
Ace AF1 77 stock
OJ Plain Janes 87a 58mm.
Bones Reds
Santa Cruz Slimeline Rails
Diamond 1/8 Raisers
Bronze 56k Allen bolts 1inch.
Jesus Grip + Random Clear Grip

So stoked on how it came out. Went to the park and had a fun test drive already. So different from my usual 8.25 deck, feels like skating a tank!
