Anyone have any tips for frontside tailslides?
[close]
I have problems with this trick too, it comes and goes.
But umm... if the problem is its not sliding (hitting the wheels first and whatnot) i slightly put more of my back foot on the tail for the ollie.
And try to only turn your lower body and keep your shoulders parallel, just like a bs tail.
Yeah. With front tails I either have my tail barely on or get into a lipslide. Tips?
Hey? What're Those?

Never had the lipslide problem but...
I quess you could try ollieing way higher than the ledge and then smacking the tail on.
Might be hard to slide at first, but should get you more comfortable with the trick.

Seriously one of the funnest nollie tricks out there. Just make sure your back foot is angled correctly and sliding to your tail so that the board stays leveled, bring your shoulders and arms around and roll away with a bigass smile on your face.

Your gonna wanna look forward towards your nose but still try to keep your shoulders parallel to your board before you pop.

I'm quite sure nollie bs flips are way more fun... or pretty much any nollie kickflip trick. Thanks for the tip though

for me personally fs nollies are a lot funner, probably because you can do them a lot faster and up/over things. for me to even do a nollie bs flip takes mass concentration and ill end up just pivoting half of it.

^ man!

I've front blunted many a skatepark handrail in my youth, but never once a ledge.

When you say on tranny, do you mean sliding? I've done the stalling front blunt things on tranny before. I've found it helps to come at the coping backside a little bit instead of straight-on, it feels like you're ali-ooping, which oddly enough, makes it easier. I think that's the reason bs bluntslide fs reverts are so much more common than fs bluntslides back to regular on tranny. In fact, I can't think of a single instance where someone's slid a front blunt on tranny and popped back in, turning frontside back to regular  ???

I'm pretty sure Emmanuel Guzman does one at Washington Street in Prevent this Tragedy. Also Cards at Burnside in Fucktards but thats kind of into a bank.

Fs 5-0s on tranny is actually really easy, it`s all about weight placement, just keep pressure on your back heel, try to get your weight on top of the coping/surface not leaning back to much. sometimes its easier popping a small ollie into it, depending on the curves.

don't forget to go front truck first, just put your front foot on bolts and focus on that.

i can't do regular noseslides on ledges or tranny. ive done kickflip and nollie noselide on ledges before but when i do them regular i do some half-assed slappy thing. on tranny i can do the andy roy ollie nosestall fakies but when i try to slide them i just stick.
i also cant bs bigspin for shit.

you really shouldnt be popping ollies into your fs 5-0s, even little ones..

plain ol' reg heelflips, can do inwards, varial heels and bs heels and all switch heel variations except silly things like lazer flips. But I simply cannot make a reg heelflip look/feel good at all :(

This seems to be a common occurrence. I can't front shuv regular either. That is a trick I would love to be able to pop. Heelflips too, in fact a lot of tricks where the board goes behind you...

I can nollie, but I don't have my timing down so I can't do it up or down shit.

Frontside tails just clicked for me a few months ago and they've been super easy ever since. As for wallies, I'd learn them on something slanted and with an end at first instead of a full on wall. Really, it's just a matter of pushing up against the wall and sucking your knees up.

Nollie heels are the worst trick ever.

and maybe imagine its a quarterpipe, as if you were pumping up some super steep tranny and riding off to the side of the ramp or up and over the top.

Okay, it's easy. Ride at a slight angle to the ledge, front foot should have toes and heel hanging off and be just under bolts, back foot is all toes, heel off, foot angled slightly with toes pointing more to the tail, heel in, this is for the scoop. Pop that ollie, but you don't really spin yourself, more like scoop with the back foot, your shoulders should follow and you'll have that 90 degree turn going on, you definitely gotta have your shoulders parallel with your feet, but concentrate on getting your back foot on top the ledge, it's important to get your weight on the obstacle, slide, turn out either way you want (I personally feel back to regs looks more stylish) and roll away. Go fast, like really fast. Hope this is clear enough.

Switch back 180's are pretty hard for me. Also, I will probably never hardflip, not that I'm concerned about the trick anyways.
