The last few seconds of the episode are definitely indication that there is a ticking time bomb that is about to explode. They haven't been shy at all about calling Walter "explosive" or a "time bomb".

I couldn't believe it's only been a year in their lives. During the course of a year, Walter has gone from a fumbling, submissive personality...to a full-blown narcissistic, morally corrupt, alpha-male. Skyler has gone from a loving, caring wife, to a manipulative, calculating cheater, and then to a dead-soul, hopeless, submissive type. Walter Jr. has gone from liking pancakes, to cereal.

I don't know if he is morally corrupt, he just takes business very seriously. A lot of legitimate business men have the same attitude, they are family men and caring, responsible citizens etc, but if it fucks with their business they take a different approach. It's like being two different people, but you can only wear one face for so long before it starts showing itself in other areas of your life.  Also Walter may have always been narcissistic, thats why he was submissive in the past, he had too much pride, and was scared to fail. Succeeding in the Meth business has given him all this new confidence. Skyler can't deal with the fact that he is a different man from the person she married.  She is trying to grasp what's left of her previous role.  It's interesting how people give other people roles and expect them to maintain them forever.

Skylars increasingly 2 dimensional ball-ache personification in this series is making me sexist.

i'm indifferent about skylar but i appreciate her character. that's exactly how i imagine a wife who isn't a total pushover to react in her position. don't get me wrong, i can totally see why people wouldn't like her, but i think it's great how the show includes these type of extremely uncomfortable but presumably real moments. they don't typically let the viewer get off easy and i love it. we're all hoping for skylar to just play cool and not make things difficult for walt, but realistically, why the hell would she?

All wives should be a total push over.  Why would you marry someone who isn't?  She's a whiny bitch who isn't getting her way anymore.

Just because other things are morally questionable, doesn't mean this isn't one of them. I can safely say I don't personally know anybody who does something more morally corrupt than mass producing and selling meth...

I guess you're right. Walter isn't morally corrupt. I must've just imagined the episodes where he poisoned a child to get his way, sat by idle while a woman asphyxiated, manipulated Jesse into murdering Gale, planted a pipe bomb in an old man's wheelchair that killed multiple people...etc.

See, you can say that, but the honesty is that he is thrashing morals to keep the business afloat. It doesn't matter how you justify it, he is morally corrupt.

Seriously, don't ruin this thread by wasting time with harry crews.he doesn't even try justifying shit, just tries to shift the focus and says even more absurd shit.

Though it does seem like gomez is either watching a different show or cannot understand simple plot points.

^ lol well if you're talking about walt's comment to jesse, there's at least three different theories proposed in this thread including mine, so it's obviously not as "simple" (or you're not as obviously right in your theory) as you would like you believe. if you're talking about what i said about skylar, then pretend i didn't reply to you because you weren't worth addressing.

Skyler used to have Walt's balls in a vice but Walt's newfound confidence, and career, has created a power shift in their marriage. He's no longer that weak teacher that she could boss around.

He is compromised regardless. You think they would ever believe Hank if they caught Walt, and he tried to say that he had no idea that his brother in law was the guy they were after all along? Best case scenario he gets fired and his career is over, most likely scenario, they think he was in on it the whole time and prosecute him.

You're right. That thought crossed my mind before too. Hank could get screwed regardless. He's gotta suspect him a little and I can't wait to find out how long he knew it, if he did.

word me too, like what would happen if Hank discovered Walt by himself, what would he do? He'd have to do some serious thinking before making a decision, it wouldn't be as simple as arresting him and end of story, that's for sure.

Doye it would be hard to prove that he was in on it.
