If I was Banksy, I'd have some of my buddies putting some of the extra copies produced on auction for personal financial gain.  Or not.  I'd probably just flood the market after people have paid out the nose for a copy.

other than the art on the actual animals, banksy is usually top notch.

I hope to God Banksy didn't actually buy 500 Paris Hilton CD's so he could alter them...

He replaced them with his own.

Yes, but he had to have the original (and the original barcode as well) to alter it; you can't just print off some BS barcode and have it register correctly in-store...

Watch the youtube video of him replacing them.  The original Paris cds have a cardboard slip over them that has the barcode and whatnot.  He took the cds out of those, put them somewhere else in the store, and put his cds inside of them.  Now, as to how he got the original packaging to make his cds, he probably bought one and used it.

actually you could for a while. there was a website up making fun of priceline.com that collected tons of barcodes from various retailers and made a downloadable program were you could print them off onto sticker paper. of course it got shut down, but i heard there was a cloned version of the site somewhere.

Not Paris, but Banksy in the news again...

BANKSY STRIKES DISNEYLAND.

The hooded figure was placed inside the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride at the California theme park last weekend.

It is understood to have remained in place for 90 minutes before the ride was closed down and the figure removed.

A spokeswoman for Banksy said the stunt was intended to highlight the plight of terror suspects at the controversial detention centre in Cuba.

Banksy is notorious for his secretive and subversive stunts - such as sneaking doctored versions of classic paintings into major art galleries.

In 2005, he embarrassed the British Museum by planting a hoax cave painting of a man pushing a supermarket trolley, which he said went unnoticed for three days.

Last week, he smuggled 500 "alternative" versions of Paris Hilton's album into record shops around the UK.
