Norfolk, VA. The park is fun, but it won't be open year round and it's definitely not a plaza. Here's some footy of the park form before it was fenced off and covered in gravel.

honestly, if east coasters were gettin all the parks im sure the Cali heads would be beggin for some too.

Bethlehem has a plaza now, thanks to the locals...there is always that route instead of being a spoon fed west coaster.

The first one was in ohio back in like 2005, and no one was begging for one then. Dyrdek and p rod Just started raising money and putting them everywhere. The local pros on the east coast would do the same thing, if they weren't so busy talking shit on everyone that's not from the east coast.

I'm not taking sides...which means I'll just bring up points for whatever coast has points that should be brought up...but if Wenning or Pops moved to the West Coast, got on MTV or had spots to 'practice' at to get as good (West Coast) as P. Rod and make all this money, I'm sure it would go into plazas in their hometowns too.

It really just comes down to money and fame.

Both of which are easy or easier to get  here in California than out in the East.

if you want plazas on the east coast then sell out. why should successful, west coast sell outs like dyrdek, prod, berra, and koston, build plazas in the east where everyone hates them for selling out? get your own sell outs dude.
did no one read this? i thought it was really funny.

I'm definitely down for anyone building more skateparks anywhere.... but is this gonna be some pay to skate thing? If you read the sign in the picture it talks about there being a pavillion with streaming content from the berrics playing on lcd screens and stuff....

it would be dope if there were more parks here on the east but really, more parks means more skating for all.
build them anywhere and let people enjoy them.

that is exactly why you don't have parks.

If I'm not confused, Ricky is working extra jobs so that he can continue building a solid reputable brand in order to create a stronger scene on the east coast. He's definitely not making big money off of Traffic, and it seems like he is doing it more for the mission than anything.
I'm not trying to defend the east coast and won't speak on the rest of them, but Ricky puts blood and sweat in to make the east coast a better place.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”
I quit skating for a time due to piling out

Can you explain what he does to make a "strong scene" on the east coast? I'm not saying he isn't, but I don't see how that guy has done anything for anyone on the east coast - except maybe whatever he's involved with in his own little local neighborhood.

if ricky oyola wanted to make dough, he would have turned dan plunkett pro. unintentional rhyme. but seriously, dan plunkett, the one that got away. him brock and jake donnelly are the only legit skaters to come out of the east coast.
