Ive said this before, but why THE FUCK does he have to make that stupid fucking face for everything ever to do with that dogshit company.
I remember reading a study saying that people are more inclined to see thumbnails of videos if it has people's faces with a shocked face. It looks so stupid for sure, but I guess statistics wins in the end

Vans Rowley XLT on the schedule for next year. Looks like four colorways in total.

Now all I need to be re-released from Vans are the Estilos.

Were you a fan of the ogs? I tend to agree but I was never a fan of them when they first came out (never really got why people wanted an inch and a half of kitchen sponge under their heels and Rowley pretty much didn't even wear them anyway) but I guess for the fans of the shoe it looks pretty close. If they make the midsole out of popcush and have better quality uppers I can at least see a reason for them to exist.(altho there's like six other Rowley shoes I'd bring back before these)

Haha I didn't like the og's either. I vividly remember myself and a mate checking them in the shop and having a giggle when we'd put them at the bottom of different pant legs in the store to see how they would look. They're an awkward design and look horribly out of place even amongst the latest wave of bigger shoes.

This is not the only Rowley shoe being re-released, as I've been told there are a number of models coming, not just this one. Personally, I can't recall Vans doing a release of a thicker vintage cupsole shoe like this properly, and I'm not going to say "no way Jose" to more vintage shoes being brought back. 00s are all the rage now.

Look so good, I will def buy a pair for the pure fact of being one of my favorite shoes back in the day. Hopefully the midsole is you know a real foam midsole and not some crap popcush insole and that's it.

Please tell me the 4th color is navy/gum the starry eyed nostalgia for that specific shoe is intense for me.  I'm grabbing all 4 colors regardless.  This shoe skated soooooo good.

not to nitpick, but why and when would they have? this era of shoe is only coming into the re-issue cycle now due to trends and whatnot

Multiple colorways.  The one I saw from the Vans rep isn’t there either and is supposedly out this Fall

Vans could have done this earlier this year, DC has been doing it for a while and is having great success with it (arguably it's revitalized their brand). I mean honestly with all the missteps over the last several years (lackluster signature models, the constant barrage of new models that nobody really wants, the spree of goddawful non-skate collabs, the death of the Vault line) I don't expect them to be ahead of the curve or setting a trend, but it would have been interesting to have something like a thicker and puffy Fairlane a year ago instead of the Knu-Skool or even a later Cab model for the entire Half Cab thing last year. Instead just got the same thing over and over.

Have not skated the shoes just yet, but I tried on the Vickkas and the Japans at Atlas today. These are my initial thoughts of just walking around in the shoes:

The Vickkas are bit thinner but seemed liked it would be great for board feel. The rubber is super grippy and it seems almost good out of the box. The fit a bit snug, but not cramping to the foot and seems very pliable to my foot right away. They didn't have my size but even at half a size down I can tell I want this shoe for sure. The fit is TTS.

The Japan is more of a traditional cupsole feel, being thicker and a little more firm. However, this shoe is perfect for a person with a slightly wider foot. The toebox is a bit wider, but that is actually what I prefer more nowadays with my shoes. These shoes are just overall very comfortable and this is the shoe I decided on getting. This shoe is also TTS.

Vickka's seem to be the most popular shoe going right now, so for those who are waiting for the shops to put them online, might want to be quick when they do go up.

Thanks for these details. I haven't had time to stop by and try them on. The Japan might be the one for me.

Did a quick comparison of the tyshawn remaster to the old. The toe is a bit pointier, and there seemed to be a bit less padding in the shoe. Maybe feels a bit cheaper but that might just be in my head.

I was looking at the images online. Definitely looks like a pointier toe. Is the padding significantly less? The red ones look cool but I think I might stick to Puigs.
