Did a quick comparison of the tyshawn remaster to the old. The toe is a bit pointier, and there seemed to be a bit less padding in the shoe. Maybe feels a bit cheaper but that might just be in my head.

I was looking at the images online. Definitely looks like a pointier toe. Is the padding significantly less? The red ones look cool but I think I might stick to Puigs.

Not significantly, but definitely a bit less. The shoes had quite a bit in the first place, especially compared to puigs

Interesting choice to release earthy winter colors/materials during the summer (northern hemisphere) if it's a largely NA, Europe, Asia release coming up before Fall 23.

Those don't look like the stock fluffy shoestrings that Vans usually includes in old schools but they could be fancified for  the product shot.

Those Rowan 2s sure do look like the Vans dunkalike that's probably late to the party at this point.

Lol was resisting the urge to say it's probably gonna be $200+ in Aus. All vans prices have gone up so much I don't know why anyone would buy them over other brands. (I still like the look generally tho). Lizzie's are $190 blazer mids are $120, dunks and Jordan 1 are $170

I might be forgetting one, but I think it's literally the only mid-top cupsole skate shoe with a full length foam midsole on the market right now. The only other Vans model with the same tech is the Zahba low, and I don't think 'it's a mid-top version of another shoe' is a valid knock against it.

The main cushioning is in the midsole not the insole. The only other shoe with the same tech is the low version. It's a completely new sole design.

Also not understanding the Rowan 2 hate - looks pretty good to me other than the blue/white colorway. Black ones look great, excited to hear about what the sole is on that one, looks different from the Zahba one. Maybe it's the same just beefed up a little bit?

In terms of appearance? It's literally a modernized half cab. Almost the exact same panel placement, nearly the same height, slightly changed eyelet placement (with the same single metal eyelet), but now with a jazz stripe. Looking at the other models vans has now, it is one of the few with a foam midsole, that's 100% correct.

Yeah you are right, the tech is different. Personally, after trying them on I wasn't impressed. Maybe it's just because I'm trying to be ultra-conservative with purchases, but I would rather buy NB/Dunks at that price point. I mean I've already seen the Zahba marked to over 50% off already (even had that all-timers collab for $35). I don't understand what they're doing.

Does the nb440 mid not have midsole cushion ?

It does a lil under the mid/rear/heel area but not under the forefoot which is paper thin with a paper thin insole
