Although in the end it's just another black and gum Lynx OG, just for nostalgia's sake I actually really like this and might buy these. Wearaway uppers are kind of neat.

I have yet to see a pair in person, but the quality of the shoes seems to actually be pretty good. All the models are pretty unique, not just the same shoe with minor modifications.

Those would belong in the wack shoe thread if they were even skate shoes. A lot of high-end fashion sneakers are distressed shoes with duct tape, but have 10x the pricetag compared to the UO ones. Even Vans is copying that shit for the one of the lines…Vault maybe?

Those are so sweet. Can confirm that those and skatedeluxe are both euro only release this weekend, cash only US drops. Sucks, really dig those lukodas and they haven't put any out since the butters almost a year ago.

Just chillers - the fact that I’ll hold onto these is part of the logic for sure. Blowing through them would be insane.

I wear them to work most days, since the office got more casual it became way more acceptable to wear sneakers…these do dress up pretty well (or maybe I think they do based off the fact they were expensive)

Honestly compared to some other nicer shoes I have they feel a little meh. The other leather/suede is nice but the inside is a pretty cheap terry (vs leather or otherwise). I’m sure the rose anvil YouTube guy would slaughter them for quality.

Bonus though. the gum sole isn’t falling off in chunks like they did on the air walks initially.

Paid full price for the C71's at my local then noticed they were selling them for half price directly on their website so I bought the same model/color. Sole went bald nearing a hole after two weeks with both pairs and the crease point in the toe area did that annoying thing where the suede separates from the sole.

Also, the second pair the insole literally started crumbling away into chunks and multiple times a session it would build up and I'd have to take off my shoe and dump out a bunch of foamy insole lint. Weirdest insole experience ever. I don't even do flip tricks, just a lot of transition and slappies. Was pretty bummed because the simple design is exactly what I prefer. I don't recommend them at all.

It's funny because I remember talking to a shop owner some time back and they were kinda bummed because Nike would make them do full size runs on every shoe in the line and they really just wanted a black/white blazer high and a couple janoski colours and now sounds like Adidas is the one making shops get more stock than they can sell. (They also bring up the harsh dunk years where they'd just go on sale earlier in the video)

I feel like that blondey shoe was really never meant to sell to skateboarders or at skate shops and was really just meant to be thru Thames or something. I know it would be the opposite of its intentions but if it was in thick quality leather instead of plastic I'd probably shell out (pardon the pun) the $250 for a pair

Right you hear guys post about on here and it always sounds like Bs bc how many different “Nike cut most of their team” things do you have to go through before you just stop believing any negative thing you hear about Nike, but it was nice to hear straight from the shop in this context and also that they would call shit out that needs to be called out even from brands they like. 

Nike seems to be doing the best from an infrastructure standpoint.   Even if there are anecdotes about them not playing nice with other shops, this guy from 35th Ave said they helped with the shops’s remodeling.   

Adidas and Vans both were described as ghost ships with no one at the wheel.   

NB# was interesting to hear about bc they are beloved on here but it’s not at my local and I don’t really see them around my area.   Just tried my first pair of Tiagos after people raving about them on here, but they’re just too wide looking that it doesn’t feel like me,  Love to hear good things about Rothdigga

  Cons is Cons but it sounds like the suede issues people were having with AS-1 because they wanted to keep it at a good price.

Glad you guys enjoyed the pod, being a buyer for 20+ years and a shoe nerd I see a lot of mis steps from brands. I will say that vans is lowering the prices on all skate classic carry overs starting soon. Between $5-10 at retail.
Hopefully we don’t lose our adidas account.

I haven’t listened to the podcasts yet but I know this is the show by the guy who used to run DOA and has been somewhat involved with the skate industry for a while without relying on it for his livelihood so doesn’t need to “play nice” for lack of a better term. I’m glad to hear it’s engaging. I’m skeptical of skate podcasts so cool to hear this is good.
