They could have done the low cab since they already had the sole made. Could have done the 5 then would have a sole to do proper knu skools and prob tweak the midsole for all the weird early 00s stuff.
Hopefully it just came from just trying to find a cupsole that could work on a halfcab otherwise don't see why give another shoe to a 60 year old over everyone else on the team

It's funny how badly Vans is missing the mark. Everyone wants a pair of cupsole Halfcabs and instead they put out this reissue no one's asking for.

I can't even get behind the sole on the cabs. I don't like soles where the heel juts out like that. I don't want pontoon boat soles that make my heel a half size larger than my heel actually is.

Idc I really like the Cab 4. It has everything I look for in a skate shoe, cupsole, full leather, decent but not overly puffy amount of padding on collar and tongue and the biggest for me, metal eyelets on all holes.  It’s simplistic with minimal branding. If NB put this out as reynolds new shoe you’d guys be creaming all over it.

Those were THE shoes back then. I don't know why but I doubt that these would be the same quality as back then. Something looks a bit off there. The Campus ADV was really disappointing, the fit was so different on them and they felt too thin everywhere. Just my experience, some people love modern Adidas shoes.

I don't think I've had a bad experience with a pair of Adidas in a while. Quality is pretty decent, but I don't think these are part of their skate line. Idk if they're going to hold up.

Thisbone is way cooler than the cabs. But the tongue tag and the vans logo on the back look like they suck.

These with minor adjustment could easily be on the skate line. Vans blowing it hard for sure.

they actually look pretty close the the 2005ish ones. i have an og pair on ice, they are pretty puffy i wonder if these are a good halfway between the og and campus vulc 2 trash.

I never had them myself but they look pretty nice. It's odd because they've been putting out a lot of early 00s skate styles and putting them in blue box (originals) vs black box (skateboarding).
