Those Hi-s are a total whiff though. They look like those expensive fashion sneakers that tech bros wear. That side paneling is so bad. I was pretty psyched to check those out too.

By "tech bros" do you mean the guys who commute to their coding job on scooters and folding bicycles and dress in H&M business casual? I could see that.

I think they look a lot better on feet and I'm planning on copping a pair when they finally come out. Kinda reminds me of the Blazer, but cupsole.

I’m stoked how much Vans has been supporting Uprise lately. These make total sense since the blue sole matches the Chicago blue so well. These do look weird with a white jazz stripe though. Maybe make that blue too?

Not a skate shoe is the easiest explanation. Looks like it's for their fashion side of things, like Vans' version of the crazy stuff Nike does in NSW. I think it's on the foam sole too, not an actual vulc shoe.

Sorry for the product plug. I've talked about the "flick shield" on The Dickson so just wanted to share a photo of what it actually looks like underneath. That with a "G6 Foam" insole for $65 ($80 for the burgundy color way which features Wolverine pig suede to last even longer).
