Why do people think crail is somehow rescuable though? No one was brainstorming over ways world could make a comeback when they were knee deep in flame boy/ wet Willy merch, nor are they trying to think of ways Blind could make a solid comeback in 2020. It’s done, the reigns have been passed, crail is the old guard now. I’ll still buy some proddy here and there for nostalgia’s sake, but I highly doubt they’ll even get anywhere to close to their former shine regardless of what they do/ who they sponsor.

I get that girl has about 7 years start on baker but I see baker outlasting girl in terms of relevancy even 7 years from now. I had some problems with Baker 4 but stepping back, I see that it was a shift necessary to keep the company going. I saw an influx of Baker decks in my area from younger people that I would never have thought would be into the company. I think all this is in part to Reynolds actually skating with the kids and keeping an ear out on whats cool. He takes chances on personalities and makes cuts while Crail seems to let talent slip by while letting older pros stay on for too long. Crailtap's older guard all either left or don't skate or seem to pay attention to the landscape.

In the end, maybe it's ok for companies to be awesome for a limited number of years. Most don't even have a legacy to ruin so at least I'm thankful Crail was sick for as long as it was.

crail will be fine. I'd buy a girl tee and chocolate 8.0 tomorrow if I had cash to burn. They always got the best riders in some way shape or form. Just put the whole damn thing on manchilds back he'll be fine.

Just curious for more insight into this. Spike is obviously one of those people, but can you go into detail?

Half of a brand is its narrative. What story or "vibe" are you trying to sell? Crail is a legacy brand. Over 25 years of history, faces, places, friends, videos... After you've been around for that long, you try to re-pivot your logo and branding to something that is beyond yourself. You're selling a period of time, or a memory even.

Spike is a grade-A ideas man, writer, and storyteller. That kind of insight and expertise you cannot buy.

I can't wear vulcs, but I like the design of those Adidas slips. A lot nicer looking than the Matchcourt and Sabalo slip-ons. Might be my favourite design among the simple vulc slip-on that every brand makes. Triple stitching on the front panel is a nice touch. Collar looks like it might tear your achilles apart, though.

I wonder what is the difference in production cost between a slip on and its equivalent with laces.
These adidas seem so simple, 3-4 panels, an elastic band and that's it, looks good nonetheless.

Looks like those adidas slipons would have a heel slip problem. They're nice though. Then again, it seems like the closer your design gets to a vans slipon, the better they look, so why not just get the vans?

yeah I just saw these too. I’ve heard of lone flag. They do good stuff, most raw denim. Been following them for a bit and visited the stores yearsss ago when I visited Cali. Nice people. Those are nice chillers, little premium.

My feet are super wide. I’m afraid they won’t fit me. I’ll post updates if I end up pulling the trigger. It’s all about if I want to deal with the hassle of returning them or not. Haha
