i like that lakais idea of a camo pack is to splash just a lil camouflage on there, not too much though because that would totally dissuade buyers from purchasing such a crazy looking colorway.

also please for the love of god someone somehow bring back the jb gillet balls out telford.

Dear lakai, I love you. Please use this as a baseline for your next colorways. You don’t need to copy them, but nobody would mind if you got a sense of tasteful colorblocking

With tasteful cw’s I would totally try the shoe.

All white upper with a gum outsole maybe? All black upper with white sidewalls and a gum outsole? Black and grey? Any solid muted color? It doesn’t seem that hard to put out a normal colorway but what do I know?

Lakai, look there’s a formula here. White quarter, white midsole, white toe piece, and the rest is interchangeable. (I will say that the grey/coral cw is nice though)

I have no problem with skating shoes that look like other shoes, it’s just that they don’t need to be ugly. It would also feel good to support lakai again

To me, I don’t think lakai should do any specific dunk or Jordan colorways for the Telford because it is already so clearly a dunk rip off that using that classic color blocking would be just too much. Solid colors with white walls and gum outsoles would be legit though because that dunk shape shoe is simply very functional for skating so adapting it gets a pass in my book. I just wouldn’t want to look like I was wearing some fake ass nikes so the colors gotta be simple imho.

On dunks however, I totally agree with your observations. The original college colorways from 84 are so fucking classic. Those trail end SB’s too. Such classics! Travis Scott used that colorway for his AJ1.

I never bought a pair of Fallens even during their original run, but I don’t hate what I saw in that catalog? They have a lot of bases covered: vulc and cupsoles, old and new, flashy and basic. The new designs actually have some clever lines, too.

I still won’t buy them, but they definitely aren’t phoning in this relaunch.

That lakai catalog has potential but the CWs are pretty bad. The Telford would look great with black/white suede, white/white flare or white or gum outsole.

I had those Neptunes in 2005-6, never wore them though. Flipped for big cash on the Bay. They were apparently a nod to the factory workers at the facility where they were produced, along with this shoe which was also dedicated to factory laborers at a particular facility in China:



The denim joints I wore casually. They looked so good with a white tee and some Brass-colored Kr3w Reynolds AR slim cords. I miss the FC's so bad

Lakai sucks. Never understood why people have such high hopes for their shoes and are surprised when they're disappointed everytime.

Also the Fallen rising sun shoe is nothing new -  it's an older model from about 2006.

I've legit never worn a pair in my life so I can't attest to the quality but also I've never seen a pair of their shoes I've wanted to own nor do I know anyone who buys/likes them. Not hating, just don't see the appeal personally aside from like wanting to support the brand or someone's pro model.
