Ah yes, the Vans Accel. His have a shaped sole. Would be interesting to see a buffed you Sk8-lo with toe paneling and waffle cup.

I would love a new take on the Fairlane, as I’ve said before. Ray Barbee has had some great photos in that shoe, like that beautiful nosegrind on the bench.

That one Reynolds is wearing hardly looks like the Fairlane, the vertical height on the toe box is much shorter. Curious to see better pics of it though.

I've always thought shoes look much different on reynolds narrow long foot than most feet. His emericas always looked wider and chunkier when I see other people wear them than when he wears them.

Yeah, it looks way better to me. Can't tell if there's that stitching through the sole like on the old ones but I always hated how that looked. When he says they made him special for him I wonder if that means they made adjustments for him? Because it definitely looks slimmer through the front. Wouldn't mind if his pro model looked like how they look in the screengrabs.

Apparently COVID-19 really fucked up the production of these and not many have been shipped out to shops yet. The Vans website sold out on the first day they were available. I'm still patiently waiting for the black pair to finally show up somewhere in the US...

They already made that exact shoe as part of a Dime collab several years ago as far as I remember. Seeing it as part of the regular lineup would be pretty cool though

I dunno about that double stitching on the outsole it's giving me flashbacks to thrift stores. Seen so many raggedy stitches on enormous outsoles with years left in them over the years. Also didn't Skechers run that look for a really long time?

That said, I'm totally down for an updated design.

The Fairlane and the Salmon Agah 2 are my all time favorite Vans shoe to skate in. I would be hyped on another reissue.

I'd be up for a slimmed down, modern take on the Fairlanes with some Popcush. Tried a pair of the new Simples recently and was not a fan, and these kind of fill that void.

Vans have made several slimmed down Fairline Pro colourways in the last few years, but nobody bought them by the looks of it.

Ive heard from multiple people the fairlanes suck to skate in. I had a pair and didnt even try to skate, I just wore them to film in a couple times

So what would be the downside of the comfy Cush exactly? 0% boardfeel? I’m skating a pair of shoes with very little boardfeel right now it’s doable when I get used to it. I wouldn’t buy them for 85 though.
