The thing is, their shoes are actually so good, it’s just poor marketing, they need to update the team, ad all new people, drop more edits and make more models

I'm all in for those Sterlings. I had a mid shoe from State when they first released that were pretty good. The name of the model escapes me though.

That's basically rebranding, which they already did from Dekline. I agree though - make something besides uninspired floppy vulcs.

They cut my two favourite models from their line up. The Albany and Salem. Would definitely buy more of those if they were available.

State:
"Mercer" - a mid top Emerica Jerry Hsu/Dunk vulc
"Salem" - a Blazer mid/Sk8-Hi imitator

Both have been semi-discontinued  :/

Those were two of the best models I skated from them! They were hardly floppy unless they were well worn in, imo.

Their insoles are sooo good in these. It's a dense but squishy PU compound. Way better than Popcush since it doesn't pack out as bad or feel as chunky, but still giving support.

Used to buy old clearance models to keep the insoles and pass on the shoes new or used after skating. You can fit Lunarlon, Ultra/Popcush, maybe React insoles them and be pretty comfortable.

Honestly, they were some of the better vulcs I skated when I used to skate vulcs. Flick, cushion, fit, and flex was all solid. They need a rebrand and some cupsoles!

But seriously, state could be great, rebuild the team! Put like yaje on or some one who doesn’t have a direct shoe sponsor…throw some cupsole mids in there, make a cool edit! Rebrand a bit! It’ll be worth it in the end

I will always simp for state. Their shoes aren't shaking the industry but they are simple, super grippy, and have great board feel with really good insoles. Obviously state are on a tight budget for their marketing and team but the shoes are quality so I back em. Honestly feel like they are miles better than last resort but they just can't get the same hype around them.

I think he said he can't skate thin shoes much anymore. People asked him why he didn't go back to half cabs and he said they hurt his feet too bad. He gave the new skate cabs a try and seems to like those now though.

I'll say in the catalog, the sole they have on the Sterling is identical to the Pacifica Cup sole. So it might be a cup?

Those looked like a spoof but then I remembered that Globe put out those Blazer Sk8 Hi looking jobbies with the Chet IV paneling and now I don't know what to think anymore

The ones from the catalog are cups - on the same sole as the Pacifica Cup. The ones on the Zumiez site are pretty clearly vulcs. Seems like the most likely thing that happened was that they were originally going to be cups, but got changed to vulcs at some point. Bummer.

Half of that State catalog is shoes that I'd probably give a try if they were cups, but wouldn't even look at twice as vulcs.
