Right now, I prefer the skate vulc over the waffle cup stuff. I'm a big Marana and Joslin guy and lately I've been skating some Half Cabs that haven't killed my feet like previous Vans (KWalks, Pro Skate: Sk8-Hi, Half Cab, Epoch, Crockett low, etc.) started to do some years ago.

Stopped wearing and got rid of my Vans years ago until I got some Skate Half Cabs last year to try. Now, Half Cabs are a favorite again because they're actually good now and don't just "look" good. Anyways, I'm rambling...

Half Cab on a proper Vans cupsole (Fairlane or Ultimate Waffle if it was not as tapered/tech looking as AVEs) would be fucking rad

All those shoes you didn't like had the ultracush insole, and the pro skate shoes tended to bag out really quick, some people like it, I'm not a fan of it. New Skate Vans are sturdier.  You should try the wayvee, even the Berle if you are into the Michelin sole.

Also why vans hasn't released a cupsole half cab yet

I probably had over 20 pairs of Vans across a 3 year span of all the ones I mentioned plus more, so I got comfortable with the Ultracush.
Initially, I loved them but the more pairs I wore, the more I noticed how quickly they bagged out, felt thin underfoot, foot fatigue, etc. like you said.
I swore them off and sold em/hooked homies up until they released the Skate line last year. I'm impressed because the quality in these is what I remember Vans for with the AVE-Era, Dollin No Skool, etc. of 15 years ago or so.

The sturdy feeling is what I wanted in a shoe, hence the cupsole push for so long haha

Yah Emerica is on one if they want me to pay $100 for KSL when many pairs I've seen have had the eyelet stays ripped be when the shoe has a week or less of use. I don't care how much their foam costs or what someone wore in a video a decade ago.

Came across this video in my YouTube suggestions and it had me dying. I love Billy's brutal honesty about the shoe and his quip about shoes nowadays at the 00:40 second mark. Idk why Fallen thought this was a good idea to put Billy's interview in it cause it definitely didn't do any favors to advertise the shoe.
