I would buy this shit in a heartbeat.

I do actually like those Rowan 2s too. They look like his first sole beefed up and on a legit cupsole, which could be a winning combo.

Those hightop cupsole Asics also look like they could be amazing too. Lots of exciting shoe news lol

Both mash-ups are HOT! I'd prefer the new Rowan 2 sole (looks more sturdy) over the Wafflecup from Crockett 2 but aesthetically, Crockett sole fucks for that Half Cab. Vans needs to dip into a cup Half Cab pulling from your photoshops!

Zahba sole looks like a diet version of this new Rowan 2 sole in my eyes. Curious if they choose to keep that sole around beyond the Zahba as well

Vans really fucked up last year with not releasing a single half cab cupsole for it's 30 year celebration. Instead we got so many of those hideous and unnecessary collabs.

I'm sure there's a clause in a contract somewhere, where Cab has some type of final say in what gets released. Which I can respect that but c'mon dude, so many other terrible soles have been put on your shoe. Why is it a proper cupsole is looked down on?

Maybe it's like DLX when Metropolitan released and was outselling Spitfire so much they had to axe it to keep the classic Spitfire brand intact?

I would skate the hell out of a cupsole Half Cab, and I would love to see Emerica make a version of the Pillar with the G6 outsole (I think those Spanky G6 mids are the only mid top cupsole Emerica will have for a while). Those cupsole Rowans look great too.

As a skater in his mid 30s, I am ready for the cupsole resurgence of 2023, WITH (some) disposable income to back up my vocal support.

This shoe existed early on in the con’s reboot. I had a really similar shoe in mid with a strap I got from Ross Back in college

They had the same toe and accents on the Ollie area. It also had the same plastic eyelet for the top lace hole.

I’m way hyped on that Alexis shoe. The shape looks good and if the sole is anything like a Fastbreak that’s even better.

Agreed, the collar on the fastbreak was the only thing I ever disliked. Hoping these will be the perfect shoe.

something weirds me out about alexis shoe. feels like they weren't sure if they wanted to go for a fastbreak lo or a weapon type shoe. the paneling is kinda weird to me. they don't really look bad tho. just a bit off...

the new rowans look way better than the ogs imo. the whole shape and paneling of the model lends itself well to a beefy sole. i really dig the blue white colorway.

a cupsole halfcab with that same sole could be a good idea. i think halfcabs just look too thick for the crockett type sole. if they made a slightlier more padded cupsole half-cab they would have a pretty nice dunk alternative in the line up.
