Just because we're a little gray up top and long in the tooth doesn't mean we can't have supportive footwear. I can't wait to visit my local cobbler to purchase these. These are going to be my soup shoes. Whether I am making soup or eating soup, my feet shall be adorned with these.

If only my dear old wife, Tabitha, could see me now... more often then not I still talk to her out loud like she's still here.

"Minestrone could use a little more salt, eh dear?" I say to the empty kitchen. "That's one hearty clam chowder!" I say loudly with enthusiasm as I eat my soup on a tv tray.

One day I hope Emerica puts the G6 outsole on the Pillar. A cupsole version of that shoe would be spectacular. Until then I just keep skating the Tyshawn Mids until such a shoe (and/or the Spanky G6 High) hits the market.

Emerica died when Reynolds left. That Phocus is the most interesting thing they've done since the Westgate G6, and I'm still not going to buy it because their whole image is fucked. I love sabbath but I do my laundry, shit's not for me.

The Sabbath / laundry line cracked me up. A solid description of Emerica's current aesthetic.

I want/need Emerica to survive. The KSL G6 is great (I've bought several pairs of those), as was the Gamma G6 that Julian Davidson designed (I bought two pairs of those). Those Braden Hoban slip-on cupsoles were great too (Christmas gift). I would like to think they're doing okay if they're taking risks, and letting their current pros design their own shoes, AND reissuing shoes (the OG-1 could get my money in the right colorway), but I feel guilty when a bigger company makes a shoe that catches my eye and money. I'd rather give my money to Emerica than the bigger shoe companies, but I also need Emerica to keep making good looking shoes that are durable and comfortable. I do hit those end-of-season Emerica sales hard though, and will continue to as long as I have the money and closet space to do that.

When all your pros are cut from the same cloth, all the shoes they design will end up looking the same.
