Yeah that is really odd. Well hopefully they will bring in some Es to support Maurio. There are so many shops in LA that are close together that different shops can carry other brands and make it work.

Right and I figured NB might be there because of the Reynolds connection.  They do li Ning for Ellington support and Globe bc Austyn is a friend, but that’s not much inventory to really have to carry.   I think it’s just a little matter of shoe wall real estate at this point and the younger kids and the 30+ crowd just aren’t looking for Lakai or sole tech, they’re doing Nike/Cons/Vans.

It must be a regional thing because in my area Nike is starting to REALLY cool down (dunks sitting at retail, none of the other models selling well), Cons isn't doing anything amazing, and Vans has hit the skids. NB # is growing and selling well, especially the 808/1010, LRAB is consistent, DC is selling well enough. Young guys and older guys are going for NB because they just outright have some of the highest quality models on the market. Blazers quality isn't great, dunks are overdone, nobody has the feet for slim non supportive vulcs.

It’s not up to me, but I would have def brought on NB just for the hipster/I used to skate crowd walk ins from the neighborhood that are already into NB

But the “older” guys I see buying Vans are definitely Vans types.

Lakai Terrace drops 8/24. There’s 3 initial colorways launching and a few more for Q4. Griffin has probably been skating multiple sample pairs to hype the launch up.

I have an affinity for the Etnies “E” in the same way that Il like to embrace wearing a Quiksilver t shirts. Not in an ironic way, I just genuinely like the branding and maybe now that I think about it, my love for Natas bleeds through as well

I’d 100% rock Calicuts if I saw more of them and they could be modernized well.

I think they thickness is okay, just a sort of refinement of shape would be necessary.

I agree, but it’s weird to have never heard of a Canadian skater.   It’s not like they don’t get coverage or can’t release parts like everyone else does.

Ray Barbee has always separated step hops from no complies. Step hop being from flat and off the tail, and no comply being bonked off a curb. Can’t remember anymore where I heard now but 43 I thought was a no comply 180. Now it’s just no comply this, no comply that..

Even if they don't rip the soles aren't going to hold up that long for most people

Fair… the soles will wear out before the upper does. But if you’re doing a lot of tricks then the upper will wear out quicker.

But the tread is really deep, and lasts a long time. You have to be only pushing and transition to wear the soles out before the upper.

Hate to add to the Soletech discussion but someone please show me a warn out pair of Michelin soles. I skated the shit out of a pair and still use them as my mowing shoes... They're at least 5-6 years old, thrashed all to hell but that sole isn't going anywhere. Please don't act like these are shitty-ass Lakai soles or converse that last for 2-3 weeks at best.

I'm sure they hold up great but mowing and jumping down gaps are two different things is all I'm saying but I guess I need to get my hands on a pair and find out for myself

The majority of my shoes, cupsole or vulc. The bottom always makes it out alive at the end of skating a shoe. I'm not 13 anymore and have a decent flick. It's usually the upper/kickflip area gets blown out first and then they lose their shape and get all loose. Last shoe that I remember that has the bottom worn out is probably some vans slip ons. Around the ball of my foot.

I’m not being funny, but this is literally the first day I’ve heard of Mikey or Jenny skateboards.   I don’t think they’ve traveled well to the US
