Has anyone skated a pair of globes since Gillette has been involved ? I’m tempted by the new Sammy colour way on the surplus

I skated a pair of the Gillete Dover and I really liked it. Held up much better than I expected and the insole is really comfy and takes impact. I would totally skate them again if they were cheaper.

I had a pair of them before austyn got on and they run big, Size 10 my normal shoe size and I had to half size down to a 9.5. They're a pretty basic vulc but feel high quality if that makes sense. If I'm being honest, I'd look at the applyard mahalos. Not barebones and has some padding around the collar + tongue and fits tts.

Had a pair too, shoes look really good and as mentioned materials are great.

Used them as a chiller for a while and they were great, but didn't like it when I skated them. The sole wasn't gripper enough and felt too thin.

I think there's better vulc options considering the price.

Idk, but it’s been covered extensively and confirmed by the NB employee Pals.  there’s always someone who missed it so I thought it’d spell it from the start before the cycle we’ve seen a few times re-engages.

With SoCal getting hurricanes now I would probably get em at the outlet if I saw em. I don’t mind the mte stuff , I think everyone would like them more if they didn’t have the half cab logo. I’ve been telling myself I’d buy the duck boot ones for like  15 years now

Last year, I got a pair of Destruct MTE's for winter because I found a good deal online. The sole was so thin that they're pretty much useless if you live somewhere with ice and snow. Wore them for like a week, then got fed up and bought an actual pair of boots.

Edit: the sole unit on that Half Cab MTE is different than the one on the Destructs - I can't say if that particular one is any good or not.

How we do it out where I'm from we usually wear Bean boots or wellies, and then switch into something dry once indoors.

Outing myself here, but the Vans snowboard boots are legit and quite good imo. The MTE stuff is expensive but might be worth it. Good materials, and 3 different levels of waterproof (MTE 1-3) depending on what you want/need

Yeah it’s definitely the most tempted I’ve been to purchase a Lakai in years (would def go for a Scott Johnston 1 re-issue).
