I'm thinking the real big difference between the shoes of the very early 00s and the modern ones that are inspired by them is going to be all the tiny details. On the old ones every little nook and cranny some something specially made for those shoes and if they made them like that today they'd probably cost even more than $245

Needles is a high fashion streetwear brand, hence the price point. These should probably cost closer to the Shanahan. Same situation happens when CDG does a collab on an ASICS shoe or something like that.

Indeed, is quite weird but the leather Lakai uses flicks pretty good at least in my experience.

The white leather one is technically green suede from the description. It’s a thin layer of white leather over it that scrapes away. I have a pair and you can see the green suede at the seam lines.

Yeah it’s definitely the most tempted I’ve been to purchase a Lakai in years (would def go for a Scott Johnston 1 re-issue). 

GG also just posted a nollie bsnsb 360 flip out on a ledge.   He deserves a shoe on the same company that’s given Stevie Perez three

How many more MLS/shop collabs are coming out? Kinda wierd (but also kinda not) how the shoe companies are trying to link soccer to skating. Around the Olympics it was like they realised they have skateboarders as athletes now but didn't know what to do with them so sometimes just lumped them in with the soccer team.

Is MIA still going? Feel like the Messi/Miami popularity would be worth doing something with. (Altho they would of had to plan this out some time ago)

The weird/cool thing is linking MLS teams with local shops, at least Adidas has always tied the skate program with soccer. For some reason I still have a Raul Navarro/western edition Spain shirt.

I can totally see a pink/black tyshawn low but I think MIA is done

MIA has been gone for awhile unfortunately. Andrew Downtown did a collection with the Miami Dolphins last year so maybe they’d have the connections for the Inter Miami CF.

I can’t really think of a definitive LA shop that would work.  (Plus if you’re from LA long enough, you should probably do Galaxy) / plus it’s cool to see smaller teams get some shine.
