They pulled them no where to be seen

Not missing much. Maybe the photos don’t do it justice but couldn’t justify the price. Sucks too because Rowan is worth supporting.

Nothing on vans is worth over $100. My honest opinion vans asking for more that $90 is a reach on any of their shoes
[close]
It took me at least thirty minutes to convince myself that it was okay to spend $100 on Authentic Highs and I like Andrew Allen.

$120 for Maite’s Adimatic Mid, $130 for Blondey’s plastic shit, but $100 for Mike Arnold’s shoe? I don’t understand shoe companies’ pricing.

Lakai Atlantic's are 110€ here in Germany. If they get shipped here in my size. I don't know what the prices are like in USA or anywhere else. But for 110€ I can get food for a month or a more supportive shoe. Etnies Marana is roughly 100€, depends on the colorways I think. 1010s are 110€ sometimes even less. And I was a big Lakai wearer for the last 10 years, but that is over now.

I know our dollar sucks, but up in Canada the new Muskas are selling for $230 after tax.  I just can’t picture the Venn diagram of men who are smart enough to earn that kind of play money, who are also willing to be seen in public wearing those monsters.

Anybody skate the Copa Premiere? I'm tired of waiting for new Puig colorways to drop and thinking about trying a pair of Copa's in black suede

Hope this helps. It’s the only review I found. The dude is kinda funny and comes off honest I’m his reviews.

the Copa Premiere is a price-point version of the Skate Copa.  In other words, the C. Premiere is nowhere near as well made/comfortable as the Skate Copa.

I worked at a Vans store for a year and we didn't sell a single AVE, anyone who liked the shoe immediately put it down after seeing the price. It's a great shoe and it skates amazing, but I totally agree that I don't wanna buy a pair of Vans (or honestly any skate shoe) for more than like 90 bucks. I can only imagine how crazy the new AVE price will be.

We’re entering a weird era in the world. Minimum wage is still fucking 7.25. Vans has 0 technology that they can put in a shoe that is worth $110.

this

The rising prices began to trick me a long time ago too. $75 is still not a steal for a pair of shoes that I’m going to blow through and when I’m shopping clearance I have to remind myself of this.

Adidas is dropping a $500 marathon racing shoe soon that was worn while shattering the women’s world record over the weekend

as a consumer, I’m going to flex the infinitely minute power that I have and buy what’s still reasonable.
[close]
I think part of the price with those crazy new marathon shoes is also how few pairs they actually sell. It's been a little while since I did distance running but when I did there were still not that many people who'd go and grab the craziest expensive shoes.
I don't even see how people could get into them. Generally people would buy a pair of shoes wear it once to kinda get used to it, run a marathon and chuck them out. I can't see how you'd just suddenly run a marathon in an entirely different type of shoe to what you're used to.

Thanks for responding to this. I love running. I loved skateboarding first. It’s rare that I encounter anyone who’s also embraced both.

Looked at Muskas in hand and the quality is top notch! I'd be surprised if people genuinely thought Creagers or Muskas were dogshit.

The price reflects the tech and quality put into them. Expensive? Yes. But they are quality.

They did the Creager and Muska reissues right. Real faithful.  Almost everything else from Es has egregious flaws or "weak points" people often point out.

Everything I've seen from reviews or overviews so far claim the shoes are built well. Whether they're worth $150USD or it's equivalent elsewhere is debatable since it is so expensive.

I agree that spending $100 plus for a shoe that will be destroyed is a painful reality, but if you think about it, the techy skate shoes of the late 90s retailed for $80-$90 in the US, which would be equivalent to $150-$170 today.

We might have to readjust our view of the dollar in today's world if we want better quality shoes with more skate specific features.

Obviously sucks because rent, groceries, etc. are expensive and wages haven't gone up.

Don't think I've ever paid more than $80 for a pair of skate shoes. Last time I paid full price for a pair (vegan accels) they went on 50% sale the next month.

What’s “price-point” about them exactly? Materials seem to be the same and the tooling is the same as the Copa Nationales that were previously released. Last/shape looks the same as well based on the pointy toebox.

I understand people’s resistance to paying $100+ for stuff, particularly if it’s something like a basic Vans that just happens to be a special edition but things will cost more than they did 20 years ago. Do they need to be that much more? I don’t know and it can feel greedy.

It’s been talked about before but I think the decades of having decks fixed at $50-$55 (in the US) really skewed how everyone perceived the prices of everything else skate-related and we’re adjusting to the new reality that everything skate-related is getting more expensive. I don’t know how to explain it here but I think the perception of a constant cost for something so integral to skating did something to how much we think other skate items should cost.

It has been enough time for me to accept the loss of the Lucas premiere. Has anybody skated all 3 shoes and can guide me towards the indoor or the puig, knowing that the premiere is my favourite skate shoe of all time?

And how is the sizing on the new shoes? With the premiere I wore a US13 which at the time adidas translated to EU47 1/3. With the new shoes US12.5 is supposed to be EU47 1/3. But for some reason it seems like the US12.5 hasn't made it to europe. I can only find US12 or US13.

Edit: Or if anybody knows where I can get the premiere in US13 for a somewhat reasonable price I'll be forever grateful

Can't help you with what you asked but weartested.com has reviewed all of the shoes and the premieres so you could get some info there. From pics the Nora actually looks closer to the premieres than the other Lucas shoes.

The Puig Indoor is slim and flimsy.

The Puig is rock solid with good support.

I had both shoes (Lucas Premiere and Puig) just go for the 13US on the Adidas Puig. Haven't tried the Puig indoor but the Puig Cupsole is a very different shoe.

If you're looking for a replacement of the Premier maybe the Nora shoe seems to be closest shoe in the line up.
