I've seen one pair of eS and one pair of Emerica in a year and a half of living in SD (not on sponsored riders).

I rarely ever see eS/Etnies/Emerica skating in Philly.  Maybe Emericas every few months in the wild, that’s about it.  Seems like New Balance/Nike/Vans have a complete stranglehold on the market, with the occasional person who skates DCs. Even Adidas aren’t that common at this point.

All that being said,  I plan to purchase the black and white Etnies Snake in Qwhatever 2024 and keep an open mind.  I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Around the LA and LA adjacent areas I do see a lot of these

Adidas: shell toes, tyshawn (shelltoes are really popular with teenagers right now)
Vans: half cabs + a mix of other classic models
Nike: Blazers, dunks, Ishod, Nyjah 3
LRAB: mostly the Frog team and Frog homies but I see a good chunk of them on non-sponsored too
Lakai: Cambridge, Telford, and Riley 3 (surprisingly)

It bums me out because I don't see as many sole tech shoes as the rest listed lately. I do see them (like I previously mentioned) but they make some of the best shoes out.

Broken record, but Marana, Joslin, KSL G6, Spanky G6, Dickson, Wino Slip Cup/Vulc G6, and Figgy G6 are all solid and durable shoes. People don't wanna give them a shot for some reason? They do cupsoles properly but people aren't interested and maybe its largely the colorways and "safe" look to some of their more successful models?

The steeper price (since Covid-flation) hit has definitely steered people away though. Across the board, when it's $$$ people retreat to what they know works best. With some obvious fuck ups by Soletech, I don't blame people for not being as won over to try them or try them again

I've been in France for a few weeks and oddly seen a lot of Lakais and DC.

Saw more LRAB in Nor Cal than So Cal but the initial splash seem to be waning. Nike/Cons, Vans, Adidas, and then NB seems to be what I observe.

Dude I went to poods park in Encinitas the other days and literally every other pair of shoes I saw were emerica and there was a ton of Etnies  as well. It was crazy

I’ve seen a lot of LrABs being sold at my local lately.   Shop does a dunk raffle with extra tickets if you buy in store and a surprising amount (enough for me to notice) of people bought Last Resorts to get more tickets

G2 was in every soletech pro shoe for the most part. Accelerate had a full foot g2 system with a similar name, Herman’s first shoe introduced the 6 with the g2 six shooter gel pad. And then in like 2013 they went all in the g6 naming for the Reynolds, westgate . And Herman models

Looks like mix of Tribeka, Kalis 1 and Decel

shoe looks decent overall but some of the fine details look under considered or poorly assembled. I don’t love the DC logo on the side getting cut off slightly by the back of that side panel. The silver bit at the front of the toecap also looks misaligned. Hopefully that’s bc these are samples but some of the recent OG releases I’ve received have had flaws of this nature so who knows.

Should have lace protectors, blew out a set of laces on my Lynx zeros every time I skated them du to poor design. These look like the slightest step up from that, that being said, might just have to fuck around n find out.
