Lakai is great. For the most part, their shoes skate the best in my opinion.

Straight up on their vulc shoes the heel has zero hold/cupping/cushioning around your heel so theyre always slipping out when you walk, not to mention the material on the inside of the shoe is also slippery as well

yes, it's been an issue for several years now for me, too. I tried Newports and Bristols and was hyped for both of them and found the heel lock to be unavoidable even when lacing all the way up and cranking them down. Half size smaller doesn't help either.
