September release

Generally not a big fan of Parra. But I do look forward to see what the September release is like.

I thought the same but turns out running shoes are a big part of their heritage.

Yeah, but they've not taking much inspiration from it for their current skating line.

Is “big part” perhaps an overstatement?    Running shoes are a big part of Nike bc of their founders, Waffle Iron cleats, Steve Prefontaine, etc.   with Converse it just seems like a thing they had to diversify to include in the 80s, but I’d be suprised to hear there’s an iconic model of Converses that more than any die hard know.

Not trying to be contentious here, generally would be curious to know more.   Googling it returned just a bunch of shoes that seemed like generic 80s runners that only look familiar in there genericness

I did  the same google searching thinking I’ve missed some long line of runners that were gonna show up and only found one “Cortez” inspired shoe from the 80s and like you said was most likely released to tap into the market. When I think of converse I never think running shoes, I just think of basketball
Alex Olson never had the makings of a varsity athlete.

A public release from Parra x OTW has been confirmed for September and will feature a Half Cab dressed in an alternate colorway, stay tuned for whats to come!"

If you mean the Vulc ones, I heartily agree.   Could not fathom how those few materials could make my toes hurt so much

The funny thing is they look like a better version of the LRAB cups, which are 2x the cost.

I had the same experience nearly a decade ago with the vulc. The show pinched my foot so badly, right at the bottom of the laces on the outside of my foot. I never experienced a shoe fitting so strangely before or after. I thought it was defected.

The shoe still won me over though because of Stan Smith’s mustache on the tongue.

But woah, those decathlon joints looks sick

Even though it was directed at me I found it pretty funny and laughed out loud when I read it.
