The Natas 480 sold better at my store than most of the recent limited releases from other brands(besides Nike)
And tbh it looks better on foot than in those pics. Swap the yellow laces out and it’s pretty acceptable.
That’s what I figured. Wish companies would start having promo pics of lace swaps if the shoe comes with extra ones.
I remember a special Vans shoe that came with grey laces or something, the whole line might not have moved a single unit while in store and was on clearance, so I got a pair, put in plain black laces and blacked out a little bit of other colour on the tag, wore them back into the store the next day and the guy there was asking what shoes they were and was blown away when I said those ones from your sale rack.
Could have swapped in plain black laces and put them back to full price and they might have sold better, but I always look at the shoe body, not so much the laces, as I know I can change those. It is a little harder spraying black paint down the side, but I still do that too, with some of the clearance Vans shoes with printed / patterned side panels, as long as they have a black toe cap to keep things normal looking.
The Natas shoe being mostly black on top could easily go well, as said, just looking at the top, from a wearing them angle.
* Way nicer than those Vans specials at the bottom of the last page, which I don't think I could do anything with in terms of modifying them to make them better. I really can't figure out what or why some shoes make it to shop shelves - did no one stop and say "Hang on, that might not be such a good idea..." or what?!?
