can’t copyright shoe designs or something like that.   

Lakai has always blatantly ripped off Nike.    Even the Fade used the same colorway as the Garnett shoe it was ripping off.   The weirdest other rip off was the Emerica Heath Jordan shoe.    Goes to show why those brands reallly wanted to keep them out of skating

Wow, they vulcanized the Terrace a lot faster than I would have thought. Looks good, but I feel like a lot of its charm is lost when not a cupsole.

I thought VA shoe would go down the route, but it seems his shoe has a proper following maybe having 2 pro model cupsoles is too much for lakai for people want to buy. I personally am interested in the Jimmy Wilkins shoe

Lakai could do themselves some favors by retooling their last and adding a midsole in their cups.

my thought since 4ever.
Alway prefer skater owned companies - and dont really like Nike.
But if you see the skater owned skateshoe industry since the late 80s was ripping off classic sport shoes.

Airwalk / Air Jordan, Vision Canvas High / Chucks, Etnies Natas / Ellesse high top,
KCK Duffs / Reebok Workout or éS Koston 4 /Adidas Crazy 1 etc. etc.

I think the big brands just jumped in to stop them, copying the classic silhouettes.
And because  Skateboarding is kind of cool – marketing wise. But selling to Skateshops was just peanuts for them.

Those Lucien seem to launch 5 years too late. Perhaps the skaters aren't the target audience of this shoe.

I kinda like the Lucien pro model, and I don't hate the highlighter yellow look, I like em on my running shoes too.

Jahmir and him have been skating that and a all black CW the past few months on their insta clips, glad we're finally seeing product photos. I'd skate em... on sale, prob gonna be $150+ if Shanahan pro model MSRPs at $140.

yup black colorway goes. And same. Been getting shanahans for 80-90 on sale a lot lately. DC’s are tanks and last forever, and take me back to the best memories as a wee lad.

The issue with the diamond shoe was those flyknit cables. They tore super easily.

damn i actually really like the white ones. i can't do the thin lakai sole but i like how they look. im a sucker for air trainers and stupid tech shit that doesn't do anything in general though. I have some nu-fallen's with a strap, but because they slimmed down the tongue, i can't actually tie down the strap without it scratching my shin lol.

I would buy a pair of Lakais, because some of their models really appeal to me - Telfords, Cambridge, Mid variants- but the two times I tried their shoes they literally fell apart ridiculously quickly.

First pair was early 2000s, the sole felt like jumping directly onto your heels down a 10 stair when all I was doing was kerbs and two-stairs. Both the sole and flip area were disintegrated in about 2.5 weeks.

The last pair -around 2014-  was the only vulc sole shoe I've ever had or seen where the entire white rubber foxing tape part of the sole just...unpeeled from the upper and the remainder of the sole. Was dangerous skating in them after that and eventually the remaining sole separated from the upper.
Bizarre, cheap, not fit for walking and barely skated before they fell apart.

They also seem wildly overpriced.

There is just little value that they offer anymore, like the shoes aren't the highest quality, they don't look particularly amazing, they're in the $80-90 price bracket. At the same price point, NB has the 440/Franky/Knox/Foy, Nike has both Blazer models, Vans has most of their non-cupsoles, Converse has the AS-1/Fastbreak/One Star, Adidas has the Busenitz/Tyshawn/Nora. Why would I (or anyone else for that matter) pick a Telford or a Cambridge over any of the models? Maybe for like under $30 I would.
