When he says skate shoe he doesn’t mean an actual skate shoe. I think skate shoes got so widely popular lately that people call skate shoes to anything that has a chunkier shape/silhouette. To me it’s clearly just a lifestyle shoe that loosely resembles some skate shoe characteristics.
It’s like when everyone calls “running shoes” to shoes that are clearly not for running, but have the toe lip and the athletic shape.

( @lamfordie not saying you dont know that, I see the quotes, just that people might be confused when “skate shoes” is mentioned)

All Grey on both models is what I had, 5s were underrated 4s were like star wars based? Something about the removable collar thing I'm probably wrong but don't remember

Weren't the 5s like a wierd high top with a runner sole? Skylow2 were pretty cool. Og skytops how I really learned you can't wear shit ironically

Yeah, 4s had the removable collar, at least the first colors did. The 5s had the runner toe, an elastic strap that helped keep the tongue in place except you could see it right above the laces (it was weird), and were overall a lot slimmer. They seemed the second most skateable out of all 5 high top versions after the 3s.

ugh that reminds me I have a pair of the sky top five in my closet, the white ones, most uncomfortable shoe I have ever had, massive heel slip, and if you crank the laces they bite into you’re foot really bad Because the tongue has zero padding! Muska was really high when he designed those, if he really designed them at all. Also you hit your foot on the toe skating them you are breaking toes, it’s just Lycra. Zero protection at all.

Just seen the regular version of this shoe on the weekend and I'm not a fan.
It could've been decent but it's so proportionally weird with that tiny stubby toebox and then that whole empty quarter piece, really strange.

...and then they faked the Eva piece in the midsole and actually it's just regular rubber but in white **facepalm**.
Makes me doubt that this shoe has actually any Eva on the midsole, as you can't see it at all.


Also the shortest tongue on planet earth, I tried to pull it out and that's as far as it goes lol.

(maybe it's a defective pair, but yeah, not great).

Damn, that sucks. I liked how they looked but with that in mind, looking back at the designs, I am also not surprised at all.
