I forgot this dude was on NB entirely.

He was the first guy to run the 480 highs and it seemed he could barely pull them off….now they seem normal…

Love it. Most interesting skate shoe in years but I don’t expect anyone here to like it.
[close]

I'm really curious to see this.

"Based and developed in France by skateboarders and friends. Village pm’s first release, “1pm” has been developed for skateboarding with function at the forefront of the brands mind (the rubber rand around the silhouette being replaceable once worn out)."
[close]

These just look like rock climbing shoes.. or approach shoes or whatever. They’re literally rock climbing shoes - how are they designed with skating in mind? Ain’t no one gonna re-sole their fucking skate shoes

Yeah it's going to be hard to get people re-sole/change rubber rand on the shoes, but I do think that's more of the skaters' fault than the brand that's trying to give you more bang for your buck. And the re-sole program has been working inside climbing communities for years, so I think it could work with skaters as well.
Heard from someone that these are actually quite comfortable on feet. Personally, I'm really looking forward for these to drop next summer. It's fun to try how these will work when skating.

Forgot to post this when the video dropped, but you can see Thaynan skating these shoes at Stalin. Looks like they work for him, they look pretty nice on camera as well.

Thaynan's section is 3:05 - 3:41

What’s there to see in the catalog anyway. Emerica vulcs, es reissues that you’ve already seen and etnies for trumpers that you’d never buy

Just Want to prepare for the next cataloge Who knows if they’re gonna make g6 cups again (never?)

This. Plus I want to support emerica. But I can’t just throw money to them so I’m always hoping there’s something new or interesting they do to pull me back.

Hey guys, going to post this here as it's the best thread for this.

Anyway...

I'm studying for my Master's degree in Fashion and Textile Design (University of Lapland, Faculty of Arts), and I'm currently working on a skate shoe design project which will be a part of my master's thesis research.

Shortly, the need for this project stemmed for personal issues with skate shoes available, as there are no shoes available for people with low volume feet, and no shoes that has more of a natural-shaped toe box etc. So the project's goal is to find new solutions in skate shoe design to maximize ergonomics without compromising on the shoe's functionality or aesthetics.

I'm doing my research in various ways, but I'd highly appreciate any knowledge from people, who appreciate a good skate shoe as much as I do. That's why I compiled a survey, just for people on this thread, to gather valuable research data.

Here's the survey. It's on microsoft forms -platform. It's anonymous and confidential, and used strictly for academic purposes only.
Should take around 10-15 minutes to answer, depending on how in-depth you wanna go with the answers.

https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=b6ZgTI0KbkSawINqANhFQuokJRd-c31OlMquwaYqts9UOERNS1lTWVRTUzhQUUxISDA5VkhFRjNMSC4u

This is kind of a pilot-version, so all the feedback, comments or backlash is appreciated. On the survey or on this post.

Thanks everyone!

Yeah last 2 Shanahan and Lynx OG colorways have been really good. DC killing it with the pro models and tapping into retro Lynx CWs lately IMO.

Also wish I was cool enough to pull off those Merrell x Dimes

Too bad it's going to weigh a ton, considering Vans doesn't know how to make a lightweight cup that's not $100 USD/$150 CAD.

Sorry for the shit quality, but looks like we can put the “Spanly of emerica” rumours to rest for a lil longer! And TJ is getting the first new pro-model on the second coming of Es.

Woah another Spanky pro model is kind of unexpected, especially with how long it took his hightops to drop. I wonder if he negotiated getting this newest pro model to stay on Emerica?

Half Cab cups look sick and I would maybe get a pair, but it's crazy to me that everyone has been asking for this shoe for years and Vans waited until 2025 to actually do it...

I really hope they stay away from green and gold. They’re iconic but you gotta move on at some point, especially now since you’ve basically have a second chance at life after being bought out.
