slightly confused with the marketing on this one because they're saying it's the "original 1977 vans old skool." to me, it doesn't seem like the original style 36 (based on marketing images from back in the day) but there is no explaining of the design. also, FUCK exposed foam.

It’s not the original, it’s an updated version.

It’s basically the skate version of the Knu School. A lot of colorways of this model coming out this year

Saw the version that’s coming out later this month and they’re kinda sick. I hate old skool but this may be my first pair in a long time. The tounge is way bigger on the normal pairs than the carpet pairs though.

can't remember where i read it but supposedly the sole is not the same one as used on the evant. seems a lil lower on th TJ model, but still have a hard time telling from the screeshot/ pic.

upper in the photo reminds me of the circa appleyard shoes a bit- you know wich ones

Old emericatm said the ksl at least was done before the buyout - safe to assume Tj’s shoe was too .whats interesting is it looks like they made a new sole for the ksl but TJ gets stuck with that sole they been using on a bunch of shoes.

It's not the same... I also thought it was at first glance but this one (although it is in a similar vibe) has a runner toe and a different sidewall design.

I feel some nostalgia for the red and white K3's, but the TJ shoe has a few too many panels for me. Aswell I'm used to any Canadian soletech rider getting only white/red or black/red colourways so I'm kind of over it right now.

Ahh thanks skatan I missed that comment originally. I like the addition of the runner toe- I feel like having that little wave on multiple models is a weird design choice when you’re trying to differentiate shoes but I get wanting to have design cue that says “es” in footage .

Yea the same shit they used on that Kyle Walker shoe, not a fan of vans fucking with anything, they ruined the halfcab enough with all the changes to the sole, doesn’t even fit like the classic version, while I too dream of a day that vans will pull their head out of their asses and release a cupsole halfcab, that wafflecup shit ain’t cutting it and I will continue to bitch and moan about it until something changes

Sole doesn't matter when the quality and durability will be typical Vans garbage and they'll probably put a price tag on it equal to the other big brands that make significantly better products. Other than being attached to an aesthetic of your youth I can't imagine why grown adults would want to buy Vans these days.
