It's weird to see from the outside because I feel like they've definitely positioned several Accel re-releases as "no, we swear we got it right this time!"

I've not noticed that in the past few years but I've definitely thrown out the view that hiding away the fact that they've been made puffier 20 years ago and aren't the prime version isn't a great move. It just confuses people.

Someone in here (I think Watson) traced the evolution of the Accel over time in a post in this thread and then pointed out how different Accel reissues were all inspired by different points in the Accel's history and that's what makes it confusing. Because the basic Accel slowly changed over time but it felt consistent and reflected current tastes. And if there were drastic changes, then eS gave them different names (Square One, Square Two, Accel Slim, etc.). Then, when they did reissues, they naming conventions for the reissues messed it up because the names and marketing materials never made it clear at which point in the Acccel's evolution they were actually drawing inspiration from.

So if the OG is based on a 2005 Accel model and the original Accel reissue is based on the 1995 model, it makes sense they'd feel different. But they're not making that clear. And they've never made that clear in any previous reissue.

It would have been crazier if they DID do that, because they did not make a shoe that resembles an Accel from 1995. What they made appears to be a slightly updated version of the Accel '05 that everyone was already bitching about.

Actually, you can just google image search 'es accel 1995' and a bunch of pictures come up. Some of the shoes are es accels from 1995, and some of them are the newer models, but you can easily tell them apart by looking at the pictures and using your eyes and brain to detect the differences. You can even determine a preference by thinking about which one of the two you like more.

Current hot topic is that the wide versions have been repeatedly proven to not actually be any wider, and those who don’t need wide shoes are mad at those who do for having the nerve to bring it up.

Plus the rubber and foam are not perfectly aligned in 3 pairs of 933s and u can see tiny bubbles of glue if you look really close.

Current hot topic is that the wide versions have been repeatedly proven to not actually be any wider, and those who don’t need wide shoes are mad at those who do for having the nerve to bring it up.

Comparing a size 10, and a size 10 wide of a 272, the wide did appear wider. But a 10 Wide really just fit like a regular 10.5. NB# blowing it on the Wide sizes, in my opinion.

Honestly, bring back the 379. The father, and much better version of the 272.

If we're talking unpopular opinions my favorite eS shoe was the first blood. To add an opinion to the recent shoe topic I picked up a pair of the Village Pms and they skate very well but I dont have enough sessions to speak on longevity.

I feel like there's something about Sambas that stop them from being good skate shoes. People on here have talked about how the original Sambas aren't very good for most people because the sole is the wrong material and it seems like every time they try to make a skateable version, something different is off about it.

I know they look near identical, but I like the fit and feel of all suede Spezials way more than Sambas.  They should make an ADV version of those.
