browsing through this catalog really brought me back.

i was a warehouse worker at the canadian distro for fallen shortly after high school graduation. someone at the distro accidentally hit x2 on their first ever shipment of shoes from fallen, so they received some ridiculous amount. let's say 5000 pairs instead of 2500. i got so sick from unloading the shipping containers full of cartons of shoes, they reeked of toxic glue and were full of dust.

unfortunately the names/images of those shoes will never be forgotten to me as a result of those few crazy weeks we spent picking/packing orders from dawn till dusk.

one good takeaway from that experience though was that quinn starr worked there, and he was really nice to me which was a stark contrast from how most of the other fellas treated me as a young austin stephens cosplayer.

Fallen model names are Trooper, Patriot, Bomber, Revolver, Corsair, Apache... whats next? Pirate, Cowboy, Trump and Mickey Mouse? Wtf is this company!

I skated in a pair of fallen Rising suns way back, for all of about 3 weeks they were a great shoe. That soft nubuck material and the same vulc sole as every single other pair from the brand at the time.
No idea what the current iteration's quality is like.

I had a pair in 2006(? 7?) but can't remember which, never could get them cinched down right without crippling my feet. Black with a red side panel, which stained crimson the moment you wore them in the rain.

I liked Asta's two shoes. He had The Rookie and then a thin cupsole model right after. A Fallen rep used to post here and actually sent me both of them because I talked about my feelings about them when they were coming out and that was cool. I really liked the cupsole model but preferred the Rookie's upper so I wished they had made a cupsole Rookie but never happened.

The Rookie was originally a cupsole iirc, they made it a vulc against Tom's wishes because trends. There's an old "get set up" video where he's wearing some samples.

Typing that out reminds me why fallen went under.

I had the mids with a strap. They were bulky as hell back then though but they reminded me of a Air Force 1 with the strap sort of.

It's unlikely he'd leave within months of dropping a brand new pro shoe, unless Spanky wanted to be spiteful IF he was fucked over by Emerica in some way, a la MJ to Adidas from Lakai drama we saw ~10 years ago

My interpretation was that he got offers to do artwork for companies that he doesn't skate for.
