My interpretation was that he got offers to do artwork for companies that he doesn't skate for.

That's what I figured from it! He's known for his art and I'm not surprised he's getting offers for cool projects. Especially ones by companies/people that want to keep them hush until they're ready to promo them.

The Tim Robinson connection with the Baker board feels like Spanky could have an in to do creative projects with bigger names in the TV/Film industry and those kind of gigs are almost always NDA heavy. Alas, now I'm speculating and assuming

Rewatched that portion of the Spanky Nine Club referenced above and I don't know how you could glean a hint at leaving Emerica from his demeanor/words. It's unlikely he'd leave within months of dropping a brand new pro shoe, unless Spanky wanted to be spiteful IF he was fucked over by Emerica in some way, a la MJ to Adidas from Lakai drama we saw ~10 years ago

My point was less that Tim has pull, and rather that he knows other connected people in the industry and could potentially lob an opportunity his way through someone else he knows

I’m on board with Spanky probably not leaving emerica but if he’s filming a shared part with tom k who he doesn’t share a sponsor with outside of maybe spitfire? That could be a hint at a welcome to NB part. Emerica has discontinued like 3 pro shoes within 2 seasons in the past year so it’s not beyond the realm of possibility. Especially with the marketing push for it , they could just be trying to sell out one run , make the money back and wait til he leaves to make it a flagship team shoe or something.

I think they're just buddies. I'm pretty sure they've posted videos skating together before and I think they were even skating together and with Austyn when Austyn was sponsorless and just focused on Former.

My thoughts are the same, and I'm not just saying that because I've continuously been a soletech fan for almost 20 years, but because that would be a bad business move for both parties. Unless, it's an unexpected split because Emerica is worse off than they let on (which is possible).
Spanky could have already left for NB if he genuinely wanted to, I feel positive of that. Contracts not withstanding of course.

Spanky Hi seems to have won back quite a few people that may not have liked the rendition of KSL 1 as the KSL G6. The KSL 3 feels like a smart move to harken back to earlier Emerica days while also trying to tap into the modern simplicity to rebuild their presence.
