From Erik's ig
[close]
I’m gonna buy these as soon as they release. I need these!
[close]

They are coming out in August!
[close]
Damn. I’ll try to set aside some money. I’ll be in Florida for School. Thankful that I already got another pair of his Li Ning Sunrise shoe. They still got sizes available.
[close]

Where are you seeing more of his Li-Ning shoe? Bummed they never widely released all of the monochrome versions he used to skate on IG and send to friends and family.
[close]
This is where I ordered them, and I am currently wearing them. So freaking comfortable.

Has the Ellington's and they were awful. Too bouncy, couldn't manage them.

By “bounce” do you mean the collapsible paper thin toe? Yeah, definitely an odd choice for skate shoe construction. They are so thin I stored them beside other shoes and the toe ended up indenting and warping.

I will give them the nod in comfort though. They are extremely cozy.

I think he means the midsole was too cushioned, like the adidas Boost material.

Boost worked nicely. Ellington's felt like jumping in your parent's bed when you were a kid.
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

What is the purpose of the circular patch on those high tops? They could have put the logo on it and got rid of the one on the side.

Edit: It just looks like the designer did a mashup of the PF Flyer Center High and HUF Classic, threw in extra stitching, but forgot to get rid of the patch. I wonder what the sole looks like.

I'd hope they get rid of the logo on the base of the shoe and move it to the circle patch. That's if they decide to release this one. This is just a sample

Sole from the low top model that is already available.

The original purpose of the circular patch was for ankle support back in the 50s when converse first did it with the chuck taylor high.

Really? How? Like, actual support, not just another layer of protection on the ankle bone?

Sketchy rips, I've been a fan for a long time!
If you look at these from an unbiased perspective those are really really impressive. (I know how we all feel about current Lakai, I feel it too).
Skate shoe brands are small operations and most of the times done by one person only. This dude is doing all this with way smaller resources on a budget, fewer samples rounds, fewer references to guide himself. All the technical work on such a detailed shoe takes so much time, hell, dude even did all the tech logos and shit when in big sport giants they have teams dedicated to things like that. Colorways & materials teams that focus only on that topic, endless Lasts to choose from and get the right shape. Doing all on your own it's so overwhelming so Kudos to him.
And the simpler PF Flyers looking one looks also super cool and tasteful IMO.
I would challenge anyone criticising to go ahead and try to create a simple understated vulc that still looks good and looks completely unique. It's not an easy task, basically all there's to be done already been done so you'll always end up remixing features that we all seen before. Even the PF Flyers were a Rip-off of Chucks and Huf Classics basically Superga mixed with Chucks so yeah, not easy.

Now get this dude on sole tech ffs, he might have the sauce they desperately need.

If he's doing all of that himself, that's impressive, even if most of us are iffy about Lakai still being around.

Those #770 colorways came out in January or February for the Australian Open. The lace swap with the seafoam green laces made them look even better.

You could only get them directly from NB outside of Australia. Fast Times had them but I’m not sure if any other Australian shops carried them.

I hate to see it, but I think DC is the only core skate shoe brand to manage a transition into a normal shoe brand, while hanging on to it's roots

What we thinking about the JS2? According to the site it has an airbag and a UniLite midsole (the same midsole they used for the Kalis S).

Will 100% swoop em when another colorway drops. Skated the JS-1 and they were great, one session to get used to coming from Vans / Nike SB / Asics but couple points to DC.

They for internal lace loops too, I'ma definitely grab a pair at some point as well.
Got a pair of JS-1's on ice that I can't wait to skate. Picked em up on a trip to England for $60cad which is way less than I've seen em going for in Canada.

I don't know if anyone got them, I know my local didn't get their order in. They seem fine enough, but the original JS-1, while being a great little tribute to the glory days of DC, was an absolute brick. These honestly don't look to me like the same quality, just from how cheap they kind of look in photos. Tons of mesh everywhere.

Have no fears. They are absolute gas. Shanahan designed them 100% and he got a new DC sole. Support your favorite skaters. Life is short.

im hyped shanahan is getting supported but the js-1 is better looking. they just made it too hard to get and a bit too expensive.

Of course they couldn't run them in my size...

@sadnocomply how is the sizing? TTS or run a bit on the small side like some DCs? I may size up depending...

Details and features of the JS-2. I almost feel like this description doesn't match up with this shoe...

Ventilation system - I don't see one, other than the 2 eyelet punches on the medial side.

TPU cage with open mesh windows - Where? Is this some kind of internal film bonded to the backside of the upper? Why is there no 'tech branding' on the shoe to indicate this?

Unilite foam midsole with shock absorbing airbag - I find it hard to believe that they would open an airbag and foam midsole mold and not expose it, or introduce any branding - even on the medial side of the tooling - to indicate that there is extensive technology on the inside of the sole unit. 3 piece toolings are serious investments for a skate footwear company. To not take advantage of the visual appearance and shelf appeal of an airbag or foam midsole is a huge missed opportunity for sales. If I randomly walked into a shop with no information about this shoe, Id assume it doesn't feature and special internal tech and would be less inclined to buy it.

I'm hoping this shoe has all the cool bells and whistles that they're claiming, I'm just confused as to why they wouldn't advertise the tech at all on the shoe... JS is a tech guy. I don't see him as someone who is an advocate for 'understated' design.
