Really sad that nowadays mainstream rap is absolutely not my thing and it doesn’t seem to change anymore.

I hoped for a new trend when it comes to beats, but ain’t happening I guess.

Doesn’t need to sound boombap‘ish, but it’s really time for something else.

while he's not 'obscure' by any means, i'm yet to find another person who has heard of or regularly listens to him.
i would say my favourite album of his is The Three Sided Tape Part Two, not sure if that's the actual name of it but it's enough to get the gist of it across.

For those who haven't heard of him, you should check it out. Mista Thug Isolation is more of a 'mumble rap' album, however might be more accessible. Oblivion Access is a lot noisier and less structured, and mentions a lot more serious subjects.
If you're looking for something to play in the background and zone out on then play any one of the three sides of tape albums.
