Found out DJ Shorkut had a stroke over the weekend...bums me out because I spent a lot of covid on his twitch stream. I grew up in the bay area and he was one of my dj inspirations. Hes recovering but isn't able to dj like he used to...it fucking sucks he's the reason Red bull started that DJ battle competition

Im old so i been listening to him for a long time. Plus his album with method Man is all time classic. There is a reason Em has him as one of his favorite rappers. He is super slept on tho but its mostly by kids who just dont know.

When I started djing in the 90s someone told me the get the Dare iz a darkside album....shit changed my lie as I didn't know funk style hip hop could be that good. A lot of the west coast Gfunk never really caught on for me but Redmans approach to it was what I liked
